SOURCE: Printer won't print
If the ink is too low the head cleaning won't work. Also, I have had to do the cleaning functions several times for it to work. Will it print a test page? Look in to reinstalling a print driver.

No I haven't fix the problem. However I've been doing all the cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning. I finally gave myself a x'mas present. I bought a new printhead for the S530D. It's working perfectly now. I was tossing whether to get a new IP4600 or a new head, finally decided on the latter. Simply I can't get after market cartridges for the IP4600. The cartridges for the IP were way too expensive at this moment and not knowing whether the claims for the print numbers are accurate. Perhaps readers may be able to collaborate the claims for the IP4600 or IP4500.
Regards and seasons greetings & a happy new year 2009,

SOURCE: Black ink nozzle clogged
If you have tried 5 or 6 head cleans, left for about 10 hours and then tried 3 or 4 more without noticeable result then you probably need a head cleaning solution. Google for stockist near your area or try this one:
Hope this helps. Please take a moment to rate this solution, thanks.

As it's an Epson the best thing to do is chuck it and buy something new.
Epson printers are notorious for this if they have not been used regularly. as the print head is actually part of the printer and not something to can replaced like it is with a Canon or HP the entire unit has to go back to Epson to be cleaned.
I know many people, professionals included, who have given u pon Epsons for this very reason.
