Question about Proform C950 Treadmill Walking Belt
Most occasions that I try to use my Proform C950 it stops within the first minute. The display remains active, but the belt stops moving and won't start again until I hit Stop or pull and re-insert the key. I bought the treadmill used and it worked well for the first several months. Then it would occasionally stop when I was at a full run and gradually got worse to the point that it stops almost immediately after starting a slow walk. It does seem run well with no one on it. I have seen several online sources indicating that I should use a silicone spray on the belt, but the manual specifically states that I should not do that.
Please see the video attached. lube the rollers bearing front+ back
2) test the input terminal voltage motor, if there ARE the motor is faulty. see my personal TIPS for motor help 3) test the output voltage board, if there ARE NOT voltage for input voltage MOTOR, the board is faulty.
God bless you

Testimonial: "Thanks for your answer. The video that you posted is for lubing the belt, not the roller bearings as you suggested. I have new information. The treadmill will now stop shortly after start even with no one on the belt. I took off the cover to observe the troubleshooting LEDs on the control boards. The motor control board 15V LED is lit indicating it is receiving power. The SPD SIG LED blinks rapidly, when I command the treadmill to start from the console, indicating the signal is received. The GATE LED lights up proportionally to treadmill speed, but then goes dark when the treadmill stops."

Sometimes the tread needs to be lubricated. This was the case with ours. You can get a lubrication kit at ****'s Sporting Goods or other larger sport stores and it will instruct you on how to do it.

Not sure what's happened here. treadmill won't turn on when red key is inserted. checked electrical plug to make sure it worked. I couldn't see that there's anything wrong with the red key. Have any ideas?

Most likely a bad drive belt. Take the cover off the motor area. If you see black dust near the left side of the motor, replace the drive belt.

You have to put the safety key in if you want to select speed/incline or predefined programs.
It starts and runs at full speed on that occasion because it's part of the maintenance process, that lubricates the inner rollers so that it will continue to work perfectly for as long as possible.

The deck needs to be lubricated. The lubricant can be purchase @ gympart.com. LUBRICATION PROCEDURE: 1. Turn off and unplug treadmill. 2. Cut off the end of the tube of lubricant. 3. Holding the tube in one hand, insert the tube underneath the treadbelt halfway between front and back and halfway between right and left. 4. Squeeze the full contents of the tube onto the deck in a circular pattern in the center 1/3 of the deck. 5. Plug in and turn on treadmill, then walk normally on treadmill at 0.5 mph for five minutes
