If its putting out carbon monoxide the heater is bad. Turn it off and call a heating company.

SOURCE: Carbon monoxide poisoning?

The problem is that it is burning up all the oxygen in the room. That is what makes the CO level high. He needs to either leave a door, or something open, and possible even a little fan to keep the Oxygen that is IN the room mixed. I figure he is working low, and there is not much air moving around him.
Get fresh air INto the room and the CO will not be a bother.

SOURCE: Carbon Monoxide?

Use of these systems have been banned in some areas, so check with local authorities first. They present a higher fire risk then other type of heaters. Secondly always read the manufactures manuals for proper set up and operation.
To answer your question all kerosene heaters emit a threatening amount of carbon monoxide. However an accurate combustion analysis performed by a licensed tech will tell you exactly how much regardless of what the manufacturer may claim. Also different types of kerosene will emit different levels. So definitely read the instructions. Best of luck!

What makes a ventless gas heater put out carbon monoxide fumes

Any gas appliance that burns gas puts out Carbon Monoxide. The trick is to make it not too much, however, how much is too much. Read this;

http://www.ventfree.org/content/view/42/18/

and there are warnings here too;

https://www.angieslist.com/articles/are-ventless-fireplaces-safe.htm

and a list of the potentially dangerous gases they omit;

https://www.abe.iastate.edu/extension-and-outreach/carbon-monoxide-poisoning-unvented-gas-space-heating-appliances-aen-204/

I would not use one unless I had good ventilatioon and a better Carbon Monoxide alarm.

My Kidde carbon monoxide alarm keeps beeping every 30 seconds and we have put new batteries in it but it keeps beeping

Detecotrs have a limited lifespan of 5-7 years. So sounds like you need new one (Its not worth to buy just a sensor). Take a look on amazon Amazon com smoke alarm detector (watch out on reviews). I hope this was helpful. cheers

I have a Kidde combo smoke/carbon monoxide alarm and when my window air conditioner goes on the alarm goes off?

I assume your alarm is hard wired which should have its own circuit especially if there are any fluorescent lights on the same circuit.

Are there any reported problems with the Firez 21007624 carbon monoxide detector false alarms?

I do not know of any reported problems specific to the Kidde CO/smoke alarm, but I spent a significant part of my career servicing toxic gas sensors and can give you some general advice:

1- Most important: treat an alarm as a REAL alarm and DO NOT suspect that your alarm is a "false alarm". My experience has been that most "false alarms" ARE REAL and the source needs to be identified! With Carbon Monoxide detectors, it is usually a blocked vent for a gas fired appliance- a hot water heater, furnace, or oven. Call your fire department or a service professional to make sure that there is no carbon monoxide. They have portable detectors that will be able to double check your alarm.

My advice to you at this moment is to act as if you have a real alarm condition and do not place you or others in a life threatening situation. Ventilate the room/ apartment/house IMMEDIATELY!

I will post more after I send this because you may be in a life threatening situation!

My nighthawk carbon monoxide alaram is keep biping

Check your user manual for issues dealing with beeping alarms.

Your local fire department may be able to help educate you on the proper installation and use of Carbon Monoxide Detectors. A CO detector alarm should be taken seriously and you should follow the manufacturer procedures included in the package.

NEVER dismiss a Carbon Monoxide Detector Alarm for a malfunction.
ALWAYS treat an alarm as an emergency and follow manufacturer procedures.

Check our website for more industry information or for buying replacement Carbon Monoxide Detectors.

Periodically emits 3 loud beeps. Displays 888.

The CO detectors require replacement of the battery periodically.

Unlike smoke detectors, the detector element itself also requires replacement as well as the battery and is sold as a module with the battery attached.

I have 7 year old smoke and carbon monoxide alarm...I have put a new replacement battery and detector is chirping every 15 seconds or so

Check the expiry date on this unit. The manufacturer recommends replacement usually after 5 to 7 years depending on the model.

You bought a Combo Gas/CO Detector for protection against the hazards of Gas and Carbon Monoxide poisoning. A new unit will give you the peace of mind you are looking for.

Oven smells like gas when on

If the oven is new and has never been used, it should be cured before using. There is a curing your oven page in all manuals before use. You have to wash and burn off all the chemicals used in making the thing. Are u sure it sets off the smoke alarm and not the carbon monoxide alarm. Be careful some alarms are equipped with both now a days and people cant tell the difference. Get your gas company there to check it. Carbon monoxide is undetectable to the nose and is deadly so please be very careful! If there is smoke and u have cured ur oven then there maybe some old food on the burner, remove the bottom plate and check. If there is no smoke and no food on the burner then u need to change ur ignitor. It maybe old, cracked or both. Typical repair cost on high end range is 300 - 400 for 1 ignitor. Good luck. And I urge u to see if it is Carbon Monoxide!
