Question about Bunn BT10B Coffee Maker

How do I remove the water tray on a Bunn B10B?

I see four deep-set holes into the bottom of the tray, however none of the screwdrivers seem to grip anything and I can't see to the bottom of the holes. How do I remove the water tray?

You can verify whether there are screws in the holes, by using a bright light for illumination and peering inside. If there are phillips head screws in the holes, you may need to use a metric screwdriver to remove them. The cross slots may require this.

Grip Strip tip for mountain bikes. An easy way to remove mountain-bike handlebar grips, even ones seemingly bonded to the bar, is to slide a long thin screwdriver beneath the grip, lift it, drip a little alcohol under the grip and twist. The alcohol will work its way beneath the grip, simplifying removal. To reinstall, drip some alcohol inside the grip and swish it around (hold your finger over the hole in the end if there is one). Then slip on the grip. The alcohol will evaporate quickly, and as soon as that happens, the grip will be secure

Hoover carpet cleaner won't dispense solution or water. Everything else works.

1.Remove bottom tank and look for pinched hose. 2.Use small screwdriver or toothpick on small holes which disperse solution-remove rotating brush first. These were problems with my steamvac (f5861-900 model).

What size allen key is used to take the four screws out of the bottom of the unit? is it metric?

The screws in the bottom are Torx T10, which is a lot smaller than the Torx bits in a typical screwdriver set. The other problem is that since they are in deep holes you need a long and skinny (about 1 1/2") bit to reach them. Thus you need a dedicated T10 screwdriver, not an interchangable bit in a holder. You can get a T10 screwdriver at sears for about $5. You can also get the Kobalt folding Torx set (with Torx sizes from 9 to 40) for about $10 at Lowes.

Try taking the filter out, and turn the sprayhead off the unit. Put the basket back on, and try pouring clear water through the unit. If the water runs through fine, you either have a plugged sprayhead or are using too finely ground coffee. Look at the holes in the sprayhead, and make sure that none of the holes are plugged. If the basket still overflows, try using a drill bit to make the hole in the funnel a little larger. Good luck.

The only place I know of that you might be able to find a replacement tray for this style of brewer is from your local Bunn repair shop IF they have a used unit laying around that died from something else. Bunn will not even send out these parts to their repair centers. Good luck!!

your problem is caused by the pour-in tray leaking where it mounts to the tank. There should be 2 screws under the pour-in lid, and a third toward the rear of the brewer. if you take them out & lift up carefully, you can see the pour-in tray. in the bottom of the tray, there is a bolt that mounts the tray to the tank. If you remove that, you can lift the pour-in tray out. Be careful, as these trays get brittle over time, and are prone to cracking.

Bunn Coffee Maker Leaks out the bottom

I have an older BUNN B10 pour-o-matic that I thought was leaking from the bottom. Upon close inspection, I found that it was leaking from the worn out washers located on the top of the tank, allowing water to run down the sides of the stainless steel tank. There's a great fix offered on Fixya.com that suggests going to a hardware store and buying a Gardner Bender GHG-1575 rubber grommet with a 3/4" hole and install it into the large hole in the basin. Then place a metal washer on top of the grommet and snug it up with the threaded fitting. Many folks say it's a great fix. I went a different route. I called BUNN customer service and spoke to a very nice woman who understood my needs and sent out a free repair kit that contained a new fitting, washer, and seal. I received it in a few days and it's working great. Beats going out and buying parts for a work around repair. BTW, the repair kit is called "Universal Retail Seal Replacement Kit #37091.0000"
