Question about Olympus Normal Zuiko 50mm f/1.8 Manual Focus Lens

1 Answer

Joao Tavares Hi. Can someone tell me how to disassemble the front lens of a Olympus Zuiko 50mm - 1.8? I have the front lens out of the lens body, but I need to separate them as they have fungus inside. It seems that there is something that must be unscrew or something like that, but I don't realize what I need to do. Thanks in advance.

Usually those lenses have retaining rings that unscrew from the barrel of the lens. My guess (not having seen the exact lens) is it's the same with your lens.
I would suggest you get a set of micro straight edge screwdrivers and a rubber cap and lid remover, like those sheets of rubber you use to get a better grip. A rubber glove may do the job if you don't have one, but make sure to wash any powder off the glove before you start work.
Start by taking off the first retainer, which is that thing with the printed letters and numbers on it. If you can't get enough friction with the rubber on it, then use the micro screwdriver. The way to use the screwdriver is to stick the tip onto any sort of dimple on the retainer, such as the lettering. It will damage the printing, but on a cheap lens it won't matter much. There may be other retainers you encounter as well that have a notch in one side that you can slip the screwdriver into and use that to turn the ring.

SOURCE: Have olympus om g.zuiko

I went on the net to try and find a manual, to no avail. My suggestion would be for you to contact Olympus support, and see if they can supply one. Here is their site:
http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_servicerepair.asp
If you scroll down the page a bit, you will find a section to contact Olympus. Hopefully, they can supply one, otherwise you will have to see if a local camera repair shop can help you.
Wish I had more, but hope this helps.

Will the Zuiko 70 - 300mm f/4-5.6 ED lense fit my E520 body?

Yes, no problem at all. The lens is a Four-Thirds mount and that's what your camera is designed to accept.

Please take a moment to rate my reply and feel free to add a comment if there's anything in my answer which has left you with any further questions.

Which size of adapter to use to fit it to Nikon D300?

Nikon bodies are thicker than Olympus bodies, thus while Nikon lenses can be made to focus to infinity when mounted onto an Olympus body, an Olympus lens will not focus to infinity were it mounted onto a Nikon body. Thus, no one makes an adapter to fit an Olympus lens onto a Nikon body.

The 510 seems to have trouble auto-focusing in low light. Manual focus works if there is enough light for your eyes.

Can this lens fit an olympus C 5060 ?

No, it will not. The C-5060 does not use interchangable lenses. I cannot tell from the picture that you have attached what cameras this will fit. It it was, in fact made by Olympus, it would appear to belong to their line of 35mm film cameras.

Olympus E-300 Evolt - LCD Screen doesn't come & SSWF light stays on

My camera is working again, but the problem is not completely solved. What I did was to put on the old lens, take out the battery then turn on the camera and finally put on the battery again. And now it works. But the problem with the new lens (Zuiko digital 40-150) continues.
