Question about Toshiba Satellite P755S5215 PC Notebook

Battery light flashes

My laptop will not charge "while it is on". It must be either off, sleep, or in hibernate mode for it to charge. A pinkish light flashes if it's not fully charged when on.

Well, if you are using the laptop it is using the power it needs. Any surplus power supplied by the adapter will go towards charging the battery. If you want to charge the battery fast do not use the computer.
You can also use the laptop but not at full power. It is your choice, but you cannot have your cake and eat it too.

Acer one with windows 7 ultimate fall into sleep mode

A laptop computer is typically set to conserve battery power. One of the common settings called standby, sleep mode or hibernation turns off power to the screen and the laptop itself after a preset time limit passes without any mouse or keyboard activity. It can be inconvenient for the computer to shut down while you're working on an open page or during a download. Change the setting if you don't want your laptop to going into automatic shutdowns

Turn the laptop computer on with the power button if it's not set to turn on upon opening. Allow the system to boot up. Open the panel for adjusting the sleep settings. This varies among the popular versions of Windows operating systems. To change the sleep mode setting on a laptop running Windows XP, click the "Start" button, and click the "Control Panel" selection. Choose the "Performance and Maintenance" selection, and click on "Power Options." Click the "Power Schemes" tab, and click the drop downs next to "Turn Off Monitor," "Turn Off Hard Disk," "System Standby" and "System Hibernates." Select "Never" for each drop down in both the "Plugged in" and "Running on Battery Power" columns. Click the "Hibernate" tab and click to remove the check mark in the box next to "Enable Hibernation." To change the sleep settings on a Windows Vista laptop, click "Start," "Control Panel," "Systems and Maintenance" and "Power Options." Then click "Change Plan Settings" under the currently established plan. Click on the "Advanced Settings" tab and select the "Never" option on the "Sleep," "Sleep After," "Hibernate After," "Display" and "Turn off Display After" drop downs. Click the "OK" and "Save Changes" buttons to confirm the settings. To change the sleep settings on a laptop running Windows 7, click the "Start" button, choose "All Control Panel Items," select "Power Options" and click "Edit Plan Settings." Click the drop downs for "Turn off the Display" and "Put the Computer to Sleep." Choose "Never" for both and click the "Save Changes" button.

When laptop charging in off position and if i connect usb pen drive, ext. HDD, etc. these are on and flashing

Is the laptop off or Hibernating? Sleeping? Open the Control Panel, Power Options, Set to High Performance, open Advanced Power settings, set Hibernate and Sleep to Never. Shut down the laptop at the Start Menu. If the AC cord is plugged in the battery will charge. Nothing else should work.

Hi. I have a HP Compaq 6820S, Intel Pentium T7250, 2 Gb RAM, 160 Gb HDD, i have a problem, Laptop won't charge battery. I let the laptop in sleep mode, around 7 days, when i come back, battery was 0%,...

try a new battery yet? (brand new fresh)
sleep mode. so you want it to run for 7 days in sleep.
ive no idea how long this laptop runs in sleep
and hibernate is longer.
no idea at all.
you do know that the speed features are programmable
including what chips do and do not go to sleep'
like USB ports, WIFI, and all wake on , features. like Ethernet chip.
and more.
why not just turn it off, and let the battery last longer..
this mode sleep kills batteries faster. way faster.
leave it plugged in all the time to the wall pack.
so the battery never drains unless you need to use it, on battery.

A fully charged Toshiba Satellite M305D-4831 has a nasty tendency of running the battery down when it is put to sleep and hibernation. It is worse when in sleep, as I lose nearly half of the charge in...

If you go to control panel + power settings you can configure and adjust how your power gets distributed when in sleep mode etc. This may not totally fix your issue as it will alleviate the loss of power. I would first see what type of life the battery is supposed to have and if you are not satisfied your best bet is to replace the battery with a longer life. Goof luck and please let me know if you need any assistance with that.

Toshiba Satellite P755S5215 charging issues Ok, to be blunt and straight to the point, my laptop will not charge "while it is on". It must be either off, sleep, or in hibernate mode for it to charge. A pinkish light flashes if it's not fully charged when on. I bought a new charger, a new battery, still the same issue. I updated the Bios and continue looking for updates to solve this problem, but nothing helps. I'm good with electronics, but I just can't seem to get this laptop to charge. So for the last year, all I've been doing was making sure the battery stays fully charged, because if I don't and I don't notice that the battery is being drained then I have to wait HOURS for the battery to charge all the way or I just switch the next battery til something goes wrong with that. I also noticed that when on the computer the battery would start draining, and it seemed like it was reacting to me using softwares on my computer. Not sure which softwares it could be though. But I've basically tried everything I could think of. I did have a little issue with the power port, but I fixed that myself. I took the the laptop apart and put the port back in place because it was loose. My original laptop charger had broke and I struggled keeping the battery charged, but I didn't have this issue until I got a new charger if I remember correctly. I don't have enough money to pay Toshiba to fix it, they gave me the run around when I called them which made me feel like I couldn't trust them when they didn't even know what they was doing or talking about. They talked like they were beginners and told me everything a 8 year old child would know. Check the battery, charger...still nothing? Send it in, we'll look at it, oh and we're not liable if everything is erase. I don't trust none of that. Your property is not safe with a company who says your memory may be erased. If that's the case, then you contact the owner and let him know, you may need to erase the harddrive before doing so, and they'll let you know, go ahead or not. I wouldn't recommend Toshiba laptop products, because I've seen a lot of ppl complain about their customer service and how bad the products are messing up. How do you not know how to fix your own products? A couple of people have the same problem as I and they said Toshiba said they're not sure on what the problem is and to send it in. If it's not fixable then I'll just sell it and never buy a Toshiba laptop again, and recommend people not to buy any of their laptops. I don't want people to go through the same situation I am.
