Remove the recoil housing and add an extra turn on the recoil cord on the spool to take up the slack.

On trimmers I have you take out the spool by pushing in the lock ears and pulling out the spool. Then put the end of the line in a little hole in the spool and wind the line in the direction shown on the spool till it is full. Do the same for the other line. Leave a little slack so you can put a few inches of line through the hole in the cutter head as you snap the spool back into place.

HuskvanaDesigner 1 , automatic thread cutter stopped was working fine .I turned of machine for about 15 minutes. When I turned it on again the cutter didn't work. Can you help? Olga

No real idea what has gone wrong, but first thing I would do would be to clean out the bobbin area thoroughly. There may well be a piece of lint stuck in there that is preventing the mechanism from operating. Is the cutter not working manually i.e. when you touch the cutter button, or not working at thread changes in embroidery? If it in the manual situation you might find that the button is not connecting with the electronics behind that panel correctly and it will need a machine technician to correct it.

Brake spring recoil will not open

I assume you are speaking of the starter cord return spring. Make sure to turn it CCW to wind it, but leave enough slack so that the spool can turn about four more turns without binding the spring when starting. If the cord broke, the spool may have over-run it's stops--try to to pull the spool outward when trying to wind the spring. Leave the cord off until you get the spring correctly wound. When wound, wedge the spool to prevent it from unwinding. Be sure to melt the cord ends before tying the overhand knot--but leave the outer end alone until the handle is slipped over the cord. Hope some of this helps!

The selective thread cutter not cutting thread.

You need a new blade in the cutter. It is a simple repair job, but needs to go to the repairman for it to be done.

My pull cord will not spring back properly

pull the cord cover off and check to see there is not to much slack in the cord when fully wound...if there is you can rewind the slack onto the spool...the spring may be broken and needs to be replaced
