Sounds like the defrost system is not functioning properly. There are a lot of possibilities -- probably ought to call service unless you have significant experience with appliance repair.

Frost on back wall of SubZero Model 501R. have cleaned coils

You've got a freon leak. Most likely the evaporator coil needs to be changed out. They upgraded the part number. Instead of copper, it's made of aluminum now.

Subzero refrigerator is not cold. freezer is fin

you could have a leak in the sealed system, most likely the evap coil.in the fridge section,is there any ice on the left side back wall?look at the back wall on the left side around 12 inches up from the bottom draws,if there's ice there you have a freeon leak and you'll need it replaced.look at your warranty,i believe the sealed system is under warrany for the first 12 years and it's around 650 dollars to do the job.there are two compressors, one for the freezer and one for the fridge.also open the door, you'll see tow switches on top, push them in,does the lights go out and the fan come on,i've seen the light switches stick, the lights stay on and the fridge gets very warm.how old is it?if it's digital is it saying to clean the coil or anything like this?

Ice keeps forming inside on the back panel of mysubzero model 550

If the ice is on the back panel especially a block of ice in the middle left part of your panel, then you have a sealed system problem. Check to make sure that your condensor coils above the refer are clean, and if it continues to have an ice block then you have to have a technician come out an do a major repair. This is not something you can do yourself, most subzeros have a 6 to 12 year sealed system warrantee that covers either all of the repair or just parts. This is an expensive repair if it is not warranteed, but when the refers cost 8000 to 10000 new it is usually well worth it. Most often it is the result of a slowly leaking evaporator, though most inexperienced technicians replace the compressor first, so make sure you use an experienced Sub-Zero technician. ICE IS FORMONG ON THE BACK WALL OF A SIDE BY SIDE SUB ZERO REFIGERATOR.

This is typically a problem with the sealed system (refrigerant leak). Usually a circular patch of ice or water driplets half way down on the back wall. The solution involves replacing the evaporator coil. Subzero will give partial warranty up to 12 years.Full warranty for 5.A subzero authorized company is recomended.

SubZero fridge problems

Ice buildup on the back left wall is the sign of an evaporator leak. Not something you can fix yourself, at some point it is going to be completely out of gas, I would call for service now

Subzero model 650 refrigerator

If the light keeps coming back on and temps are rising in the refer section, then you most likely have an evaporator leak. Check to see if you see either a moist spot or ice on the back wall on the left side of the back wall of the refer. If you do, it's definetly a leak. Call a authorized Servicer.

Rhino, this is yet another simple fix. You need to call subzero and let them know that your ref section is not cooling properly. 9 out of 10 times it will be a problem with the evaporator coil needing replacement. Sub is aware of this issue and usually picks up the tab for this repair.
