SOURCE: I forgot my Administrator Password

Hi jessymessy

There's a registry tweak for Windows XP that adds a 2nd Control Panel Users applet. W/ this tweak, you can manage/change/set the passwords of any user on the system - including the Admistrator - by using this Control Panel applet.

Look at the top-most item in the right-hand column.

Click (on the left side a bit) of this listing.

If you are not familiar w/ editing your registry, STOP! If you'd like, you can give me your email address and I'll email the tweak to you already set. (You can click on my ASK ME button if you'd rather not post it here.)

If you have me send you the tweak, all you'll have to do is right-click on it and choose MERGE. This will make the requisite changes in the registry.

After you've set all the passwords to your liking, you might want to REMOVE this Control Panel applet so no one else has access to it. There are other ways to hide it w/in other user profiles but this is the least complicated.

Instructions for removing the applet are on a link to the right of the same listing - click on the word REMOVE.

The same applies, I can create this tweak for you, too and you can apply it the same way.

I'll look around to see if I can find a VBS script, etc of this tweak that you can run.

If the information I provided you w/
resolved your problem or lead you
to a resolution for your problem or
an answer to your question, then, a
"FixYa" rating would be most
appreciated. @:)

(You can assign the same rating
to more than one expert who
participated in solving your problem.)

It is best to wait until the problem has
been resolved b4 rating the experts'
solution(s). Once you enter a rating,
the problem will be closed and we will
not be able to continue to assist you.

Very often it will take more than one
exchange of information between you
and an expert in order to resolve your
problem. If a proposed solution doesn't
work for you, don't rate it yet. Instead,
post back here letting us know and we'll
continue to work w/ you until we find a
solution that does work for you.

Thank you
BJ @:)

SOURCE: task manager disabled by the administrator

To regain access to your Task Manager and Folder Options, the quickest remedy for the moment would be to download and run RRT.exe. It is "Remove Restriction Tool" and available here.

For Anti-Virus, you can try AntiVir by Avira available here. Additionally, you may want to download and install Lavasoft's Ad-Aware here. Upon download, install and update. Thereafter run a full scan. Pls follow on screen instructions.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: unable to reset bios password

You will need to physically look at the motherboard, and next to the battery there will be a jumper and it will be on 2 of 3 available pins. Move the jumper to the other two and leave it for about 30 seconds. Replace it to the original two pins and then turn on the computer and enter BIOS as normal. Password should have been removed.

Forgot my password

Its a bit of a read
Passwords add a level of security to your computer. When sharing a computer with others, your customized settings, computer programs, and system resources are more secure when you assign a password to your logon name or user account name. The steps to perform this task differ depending on whether your computer is a member of a network domain or is part of a workgroup (or is a stand-alone computer). My computer is on a domain You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group in order to complete this procedure. If your computer is connected to a network, network policy settings might also prevent you from completing this procedure. Open User Accounts in Control Panel. On the Users tab, click the name of the user whose password you want to change, and then click Reset Password. In New password and Confirm new password, type the new password, and then click OK. Notes You can change passwords only for local computer accounts, such as guest, administrator, or accounts you create for your computer. You cannot change your network logon password in User Accounts. To change your own password, press CTRL ALT DELETE and then click Change Password. My computer is not on a domain If no password has been assigned to the user's account, a password will need to be created before it can be changed. For information about creating a password, click Related Topics. The steps to perform this task differ depending on the type of user account you have. If you have a computer administrator account Open User Accounts in Control Panel. Click your account name. Click Change my password. In Type your current password, type your current password. In Type a new password and Type the new password again to confirm, type your new password. You can also enter descriptive or meaningful text in Type a word or phrase to use as a password hint to help you remember your password. Click Change Password. If you have a limited account Open User Accounts in Control Panel. Click Change my password. In Type your current password, type your current password. In Type a new password and Type the new password again to confirm, type the new password. You can also enter descriptive or meaningful text in Type a word or phrase to use as a password hint to help you remember your password. Click Change Password. Notes A user with a computer administrator account can create and change passwords for all users on the computer. Users with limited accounts can create and change their own passwords, as well as create their own password hints. If a user with a computer administrator account changes the password for another user, that user will lose all EFS-encrypted files, personal certificates, and stored passwords for Web sites or network resources. Notes To open User Accounts, click Start, click Control Panel, and then click User Accounts. For more information about user accounts, click Related Topics. Related Topics

hope this helps

I have a laptop and i forgot the boot pass word and i would like to know hw to get pass it or reset ot

forgot computer password, do not fret, by using windows password recovery tool you can easily bypass windows password,

So, how does windows password recovery tool work?

1 - Firstly, you have to download the software program and install it.
2 - After that's done, burn the software to CD/DVD or USB Flash Drive.
3 - Reset your windows password.
4 - After the password has been reset, your Windows system will restart and you'll be able to login with no password.

so,it is so easy, right? Why don't you take a look at this software program yourself?

I forgot my gateway password and i am out of money and i take on line classes

which password are you referring to is it the user's log-in password or the systems password?

for systems password >> remove the casing of your desktop, locate the CMOS battery cell (it's like a silver coin) you can try to look for the jumper or just remove the battery cell and wait for about 10 seconds or so then place it back (take note of the polarity + and - ).close the casing and start your pc.

for user's log-in password >> turn on your pc and press f8 during boot, select 'safe mode'
then select 'administrator account and leave the password box empty. you should be able to log-in to windows in safe mode. then go to control panel / user's account and change the password of your account from there.

hope this helps!
