Question about Toshiba Satellite A105-S4384 Notebook
I have a toshiba satelite laptop and i am having some boot issues. it will get past the toshiba screen that will let me go into bios, but then the screen goes black and just a blinking white dash is left on the screen. there are no disks in drives. can you help me?
Something has messed with your MBR, master boot record, which is a small sector at the beginning of your first hard drive which tells the bios which partition to boot. You'll have to use your xp or vista's installation disc to repair the system.( Choose; repair this installation of windows when prompted )
While you are in the bios check under the boot section the order of your boot devices. If you have more than 1 HD check that the one containing your OS is first.
