DIshwasher runs FOREVER and does not seem to rinse

Our dishwasher runs FOREVER and when the cycle is complete, the "clean" light is on but not the "sanatized" light. I do not think it is rinsing the dishes either

My Frigidaire dishwasher - most buttons don't work and clean and sanitized lights are flashing after cycle completes.

Hello Rich - From what you have described if only some cycles are working, then there seems to be a communication problem coming from the main control panel, I would suggest contacting a professional technician to diagnose the unit.

My Whirlpool dishwasher washes but does not rinse or dry

Most likely the control panel is defective. Go to the repairclinic.com for further diagnostic help and parts.

Dishwasher leaves residue on dishes. Salt levels seem fine, rinse aid ok, and cleaning block is released fine.

Hi

White film deposits are observed if water is hard or when you are using more detergent than needed, try filling detergent cup half way. Try using white vinegar after the wash cycle is complete, run a complete cycle. Also turn down the heat on the hot water fed to the dishwasher. Try using water softener for better results.
You can also add vinegar in the final rinse cycle. Make sure that your soap dispenser drawer is opening and closing fine.

Hope this helps... Please post back if more information is required.

Dishwahser rinse cycle running for hours

It sounds like a thermal stop. The water in the rinse wants to get up to a certain temp to satisfy the thermistor but doesn't reach it so it will stay there. If you have an amp probe you can put it on to see if the heater is coming on. This could be your problem.

Do you have high temp rinse or sanitize selected? This will pause the timer during the final rinse cycle to heat the water. The sensor might be bad. Try the quick cycle, I don't think this heats the water.

Very long cycle as before

If your dishwasher's cycle times are too long, check these:

Water pre-heating
Cycle not completing
Water pre-heating Yourdishwasher may pre-heat the water. If so, and if the water entering thedishwasher is cool, the heater may take up to half an hour to heat thewater.

To avoid the wait, increase the incoming watertemperature before turning on the dishwasher. Do that by running thekitchen sink faucet until the water runs hot. Or increase thetemperature of the hot water to the entire house at the hot waterheater.

Warning! To lessen the risk of scalding, don't set the hot water heater temperature higher than 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

Runs all the time

I just had this problem. I found an article that explained it and had the exact picture of my problem. It is http://fixitnow.com/wp/2006/06/09/bosch-dishwasher-takes-forever-to-complete-a-cycle/ .
I am watching my the dishwasher just move into the rinse cycle as I type this. My guess is that I just saved either $400 for a repair or $1000 on a new dishwasher. I think it is time for me to make a donation to that article's author.
