Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: MS9520 serial connected to the terminal - does not send keys to the terminal server

Ok this is an old questions, but I had a similar problem recently. I found that I had to install Softwedge on the Remote computer.

I was trying to use the scanner over remote desktop. Remote dektop needs to have serial communication enabled. The computer that you are connecting to via RDP needs to have softwedge installed.

Cannot Establish a Microsoft ActiveSync connection between host PC and MC9090

Motorola MC9090
Motorola MC9090 Target Platform fetch.php?media=installation:symbol:mc9090.jpg This guide is intended for use with a Symbol MC9090 running Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0. Assumptions
  • Technician should be familiar with connecting the terminal via cradle, USB and ActiveSync.
  • Technician already has the SyVox Client CAB and a grammar CAB (either the generic one or a site specific one)
Installation Procedure
  1. Set up and save your wireless configuration.
  2. Establish an ActiveSync1) connection between your PC and your terminal.
  3. Copy the SyVox Client and Grammar CAB files to the device in a known directory.
  4. From the device, install the SyVox Speech Client and Grammar CAB files by tapping on them from the directory you installed them in.
  5. If this is your first time running SyVox on this terminal, SyVox will request a License Key. Go to the Menu ? License screen where you will be given a screen with a field for your License Key and your SyVox Serial Number (your device's unique identifier). Contact Genesta with the SyVox Serial Number displayed to receive a 16-character License Key for the top field. Enter it and tap OK.
  6. To perform a simple test of your installation after SyVox finishes loading the speech engine, tap Menu ? Options ? Host Settings.... Choose the File option; then select the demo.xml file provided with installation; and, then the OK selection to accept that demo file. Select the Press to START Listening button near the bottom of the screen to begin the demo. Remember to have your headset nearby as the built in microphone is not sufficent for production environments.
  7. Once you are ready to use this device with a remote host, to connect SyVox to a remote host, tap Menu ? Options ? Host Settings.... Select a Connection Method, enter a Connection Address, and tap OK.
    • A Socket host address is entered in the format *.*.*.*:*, (IP or hostname, colon (:), port (optional; defaults to 3001)).
    • A Web host address host is entered in the format http://*:*/ (http://, IP or hostname, colon (:), port (optional; defaults to 80), rest of address).
Notes

Warm Boot

Sometimes Windows Mobile devices require you perform a warm boot. This can be achieved on this device my holding down the red on/off button for approximately 30 seconds. You will know when the warm boot has completed when a white screen is displayed and the unit restarts the operating system.

Cold Boot

Program installations and settings on Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 devices will persist even after a cold boot. To achieve the effects of what a cold boot does on other devices, you must perform a clean boot. Because a clean boot requires interaction between a PC and a terminal in the first place, SyVox is currently not designed to reinstall automatically after a clean boot. Therefore, if you perform a clean boot on your terminal, you will have to repeat the procedures listed in this guide. 1) ActiveSync acts as the gateway between your Microsoft Windows-powered PC and Windows CE-powered device and allows you to transfer data between the two. Tip

Set up a Cheap POS System

1. You will need to acquire an old PC or, if you have the money, buy a terminal off or ebay or likewise.
2. Its probably best to do a fresh re-install of windows (98 or 95 prefered).
3. Download free POS software such as DHPOS (http://www.dhpos.com). DHPOS is free and will cater for most of your needs as did mine.
4. Connect your equipment to the PC - Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, Scanner, Receipt printer and cash drawer.
5. Use DHPOS configuration program to setup your devices. Codes for cash drawers and receipt printer's tearbar codes are found at http://www.dhpos.com/popopen.htm .
6. You should be ready to use your POS system.

I wish to connect a bar code scanner to my Keyboard Display Unit for inputting data when printing labels. Can you provide information relating to pin outs, protocols and how to set this up? Thanks

By Keyboard / Display unit I'm assuming your using a PC, thin client or dumb terminal. If you are using a PC then the easiest way to do this is to get a bar-code scanner with a USB interface, no programming should be required with possibly the exception being of adding a "Enter" (CR LR) after each scan.

If you have a dumb terminal then you may need to look at trying to use an RS232 connection (if one exists) or a keyboard wedge solution where the scanner is plugged into the keyboard port along with the keyboard.

In any event pin outs would vary depending upon the scanner you want to use and the device you are connecting the scanner to.

Hope this helps

Need to reload Symbol PDT 6846 scanners

To configure the terminal Ctrl-C to drop you to a DOS prompt then type cfg11 this will then take you a configuration screen where you can enter wireless and IP settings.

I can’t say about what program you are trying to load. If you get the system to associate then the next step is to configure the host settings.

FUNC-CTL-R at the Connect to Host screen

Password: system

Then you can add host settings.

It’s a shame we fix PDT6846's all the time and if we replace the board reconfigure them for the customer.

123Scan File

P370 WILL NOT connect with your terminal or base, so forget about this intent and go for the goal which is loading your programming to your scanner. According to Motorola the work around is simple and faster than trying to resolve this.
Start with Reseting the scanner completly back to Defaults.
In the 123Scan, PRINT Barcodes and the rules ADF Rules of your programming.
Start scanning from
"Parameter Settings" until the last page barcode "Reset Scanner".
That is it. Problem solved.
You will need to do this for every new programming Rule.
