SOURCE: its a sony walkman NWZ-E344 mp3 when I try to

First unplug device from the computer. Go to Device Manager and look for NWz-E344. It may be under Portable Devices or under disk drives. It depends on your OS. When you find it, right click and select Uninstall. After it uninstalls, connect the player to the computer. The computer should run the plug-and-play add hardware to re-add the device.

SOURCE: MUSIC WAS DOWNLOAD THAT I DID LIKE, SO I PRESSED

Resetting is the same as formatting and you probably haven't got anything left. I do know that if you register your MP3 online with Sony that they have firmware, software and download helpers for free. I have an MP3 with 399 songs that I can't save to my computer and the silly thing has starting freezing up like a popsicle. So far I have been able to let it die completely and then re-charge it and listen to my fantastic and long playlist. But I too fear that all will be lost and it really bites! It's supposed to say ")Connected USB)The timer and alarm will become invalid." I does that because it's charging when you plug it into your CPU. Hope this helped!

My problem is a bit complex... When I tried to add a song to my device (I had 1.4 GB still remaining) it took a ridiculously long time "synchronizing" so I selected the "stop synch" option on my windows...

One thing you could try is plug it into the computer. Check one of your hard drive letters that is plugged into. It would be either c,d,e,f whatever. Right click it will give you the properties. Used space ect. If you do a quick format it will erase all the songs including corrupted ones and empty out the files. Often works.

I installed my sony NWZ as MTP device, but now i want to go back to simpler UMS (standard usb connection) ive tried removing the mtp drivers from device manager, but it always just auto installs... Can...

Since there's no easy option in the Walkman's settings to switch back and forth between MTP and UMS, there's a little trick to un-do the MTP drivers so that the unit becomes a straight USB Mass Storage drag/drop unit. You have to go into Device Manager (Windows XP), find the Walkman in the Portable Devices group, right click, then select Update Driver. Then select "No, not this time", then Next. Select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) then Next. Select "Don't Search, I will choose the driver to install", then Next. (Be sure to check the box beside Show Compatible Hardware) Highlight USB Mass Storage Device, then Next. (To revert back to MTP, just do the same thing but choose MTP instead of USB Mass Storage Device.) Personally, I'd never go back to the MTP mode. Having the Walkman seen by the computer as just another USB mass storage device allows the drag/drop transfers to go much faster

MTP DEVICE Sony 4gb walkman NWZ-S616 not installing

if you have a problem about MTP Device and wont be able to show in your "My Computer", here are tips that may help you fixed your problem:

*First- Uninstall the MTP Device Driver in your system.(Right click My Computer then manage, then click Device manager at the left part, then after that, find MTP Device in your right part, then click and Right click the name of your MTP Device then uninstall.)
*Second- Reconnect the device and then after a pop-up show which says, New hardware found,
click install the driver in a specific location, then choose the bottom option and then choose
Storage Device.
*Lastly- Turn On your Device and search it in My Computer.

that's all, and i hope i do a little help to you!
