Question about Dryers
I have a ge electric dryer in a rental property. Tenant says dryer made a loud bang and is now very noisy when running. I went to look at it today and dryer seems to be functioning normally other than is very loud when tumbling. I operated dryer empty and it is very loud while tumbling. Any ideas?
There are two rollers that the back of the drum ride on. At times, these rollers wear out and fall off and the drum rides on the back housing or the stem of the roller. You need to pull the front of the dryer off and carefully slide the drum forward (keep the drive belt in place) just enough to expose the rollers... replace if needed.
