Hi, A virus is scary as most only harm the existing operating system in the computer. There is only one way out of this and that is to use the recovery discs that came with computer, Now some are installed on the hard drive and you have to make your own and if you didn't you can't now, but if you have them reinstall windows and all else,but all files pics etc. WILL be lost and right now you can't them either Sorry.
Check the luminance Tube If it is ok then check the power up circuit of tube,check flexible cable connected from motherboard to the power up circuit, check for dry solder in the circuit. But be careful,don't touch or handle the power up circut of tube while the laptop power is turn on because of step up high voltage generated in that circuit.
