Electric dryer won't heat

Thermal overload cutout tripped or is defective and needs replaced. Look for a red reset button near the heater element on the thermal overload. If no reset button, replace the thermal overload cutout. The timer itself could be defective, which will prevent power going to the heater element.

Bosch dryer will not heat

If you have a Tumble Dryer that is not heating up but the drum is turning ok, then the chances are the thermal overload cutout has tripped. Bosch dryers have a reset button but you will have to remove the heater cover panel to access it, you will find it just above the heating element (a black stat with small red button) simply press the red button and if it clicks you've fixed it.
It also may be:
If the dryer doesn't heat, but the drum turns, check the thermal fuse(s). The thermal fuse protects the dryer from overheating and helps to prevent fires. If the thermal fuse is blown, it will have to be replaced

When I turn my spa on the pump sounds like it is laboring real hard then kicks off, does not trip breaker, then after about 20 seconds it does it again so on and so forth

That's the thermal overload shutting the motor off. It generally indicates a problem in the bearings or motor windings. The usual fix is to replace the motor.

Bissell bag type upright won't turn on. No power. How do I fix it?

It would have to safely be taken apart and voltage to the switch measured to know, just be careful.

Most have a thermal fuse or cutout that if the motor gets too hot will trip all power off.

Hello,

A typical reason the thermal cutoff would go out so quickly is because of a poor airflow so the heat is being built up in the dryer instead of being vented out.
What to check is for a blocked/restricted vent, lint built up in the blower housing that is restricting the airflow& or a broken blower wheel that isn't moving the air from the dryer.

You've done the required first-step troubleshooting and maintenance.
If thermal cutout keeps tripping, and unit is actually reaching 185, then something is wrong with wiring, temperature sensor, gas valve, or PC board. Or combination of factors.
Call service technician, and open following link for some Bosch tankless resources including Bosch contact information:

NO HEAT TO DRYER NO COILS APPEAR TO BE BROKEN TO HEATING ELEMENT. ALSO I CAN LOAD DRYER SET THE AMOUNT OF TIME AND CLOSE THE DOOR AND THE DRYER AUTOMATICALLY COMES ON. I DO NOT HAVE TO PUSH START BUTTON....

This problem is usually the result of an overheat causing a thermal cutout to trip. While I don't know this machine specifically, you will probably find that there is a screw on bulge on the back of the machine that covers the fan and heater unit. (Unplug from the mains first!!) remove the panel (Usually about 6-8 screws) and inside you will find a heater element. Near to this you will find at least one thermal cutout, it will be a little metal disc set in plastic, about the size of a penny with 2 wires coming off it. There may be more than one of these, but typically, only one has a tiny hole in the back at the centre. If you push a paper clip or pin into the hole gently, you will hear a click as the metal disc in the cutout pops from a concave to a convex shape and re-sets the cutout.

Reassemble and the problem should be fixed. Now ask yourself why it tripped? Usually because:
  • One or more filters or the condensor were clogged and needed cleaning
  • The inlet or outlet for the airflow were obstructed
Both these things will cause an overheat and the cutout will trip.

These things very seldom fail because of a fault, but if the unit keeps tripping the thermal cutout, the problem may be a real heater fault and you should look to change the heater element or get someone to change it for you if you are unsure.

Problems with Breville SK500XL Stainless Steel Cordless Electric Kettle

There's a thermal cutout that trips if the regular safety switch isn't enough. According to the manual, if the thermal cutout trips you have to send it back to Breville for servicing.

That may be what happened, if just letting it cool down and trying again didn't work.
