Ho do i do the hard reset for HTC TOUCH pls? and by the way, some friend of mine, that is a much user friendly than me on those kind of things, told me that the problem is the Rom, or that the windows is corrupted. At present, the mobilephone doesn't even start, it only switches on the loading mode of the windows, than steps into the HTC loading mode (black screen with the HTC logo), and stays like that. What can I do?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

You can also perform a hard reset (also known as a full reset). A hard reset should be performed only if a normal reset does not solve a system problem. After a hard reset, the device is restored to its default settings - the way it was when you first purchased it and turned it on. Any programs you installed, data you entered, and settings you customized on your device will be lost. Only Windows Mobile® software and other pre-installed programs will remain.
To perform a hard reset
Press and hold the TALK and END buttons, and at the same time, use the stylus to press the RESET button at the bottom of your device.
Release the stylus, but continue pressing the TALK and END buttons until you see the following message on the screen:
3. Release the TALK and END buttons, and then press ENTER on your device.
Warning! Your device will be set back to factory default settings. Please ensure any additional installed programs and/or user data have been backed up before a hard reset is performed.
have you tried resetting? using the red button behind your battery
cover, if it still doesn't work you can do a full reset which will
return everything to factory settings... but it won't touch anything on
your memory card.
i can't remember how to do it off the top of my head but you can google 'hard reset HTC Touch HD' and it should pop up.
Reflash of OS WinMobile will probably help, you can find a lot about it on www.xda-developers.com in forum choose your HTC TP, there is friendly described how to flash it. Original or updated software to download you will find also on HTC webpag.
third type is Storage Card u can store music and photos there but u cannot merge it with RAM or ROM so pls try to understand this difference
secondly if u want me to help u out on this memory shortage
then u can reset the device i mean hard reset and re install ur applications by time ur ROM is occupied by some useless files and ur performance is de graded try to refresh ur OS Hard reset
alternately u can do this
but if u really want a new look for ur PDA and want to make it like touch HD and boost performance by freeing up more space and Ram then u need a Custom Rom then my friend i will suggest this but at ur own risk but the results are really worth it
update to CUSTOM ROM for ur pda and u will get more free memory for programs and storage i know it is a big problem in this pda and u will get new look like touch hd as well
hard rest factory default settings = when ur set is switched off press both buttons call and end key and then press power button on upside of pda (if it doesnt work try the reset button near the charging port marked reset instead of power button) for like 5 sec screen will appear asking to format all data take out ur card if u dont want to format that now confirm by pressing the centre action button in 4 side joystick and go
if not solved then go to www.htc.com for latest Rom update downlaod and update backup ur data first
if problem persists then my friend ur digitizer is faulty u have to get it replaced u will find it aorund 80 $
if u are talking about soft reset without wiping the data u just want to restart the PDA just press the standby power button up side for like 5 seconds it will switch it off then press again for the 5 seconds it will come on and boot and if u are taking about hard reset it will format all data take out ur memory card if u want to save it press the both call and end key together and then press the power button on the up side of PDA for like 5 seconds then screen will come up asking u to confirm just press the centre button of the 4 way joystick and go
The instruction given in the user's guide are WRONG, which infuriated me. To perform a hard reset, hold down the power button and turn the phone off. Then, while holding volume down and the center button, turn the phone back on. It will give you the hard reset prompt immediately. Follow the instructions. I hope I saved you the stress I went through.
