Re: No power

You have to try to check all the connection inside your system unit, then try to clean it up and check your bios configuration... Try cleaning the memory and also with the power supply,,, Look for an appropriate power supply..

Re: No power

Did you try removing the power for about 10 minutes, then trying again?

do you get any lights or sounds after trying that?

If a power surge didn't fry the mobo or PS, this can work: Unplug the tower from the 110 outlet, wait a couple of minutes, then plug it in again. Also try that with the power strip; unplug.. press its reset button, plug it back in.

My gateway dx4820 desktop will not power up

first try this unplug your computer for half an hour then plug it back in if that is to no success then try the following if your brave.

(although the voltage inside a computer is only 12 volt it can still give you a shock)

if you very carefully take the side off the computer you may need a screw driver to do it you should notice a small led light on the main board (backboard) when the computer is plugged into mains power it should glow if it does not glow then most likely there is a power supply unit problem, if it does glow then most likely a critical main board fault has occurred and the computer should be taken to a specialist computer dealer to get it checked out

hope this helps sorry i can't bring better news

Green led on the back of the tower flashes when plugged in but not getting power to on/off switch thus computer will not turn on.

Sounds like the main psu has gone. Try unplugging from the mains comepletely for 5 mins, reconnect and try again. If it is "dead" or it powers up than immediately shuts down's your main internal power supply. If you are not affraid of electronics, you can buy them on ebay (just check the spec of the original first), if not, your nearest computer repair center should doi it for anything from around £50

Shut down computer and when I went to reboot it it would not turn on. Green light in back is on

Hold Power button in for 10 secs... see if starts... if not, unplug for 5 min and plug back in and try to start. Motherboards can lock up in the BIOS or it could be a power supply. If this solution doesnt work, leave power plug out over night and attempt again. If fails again... it maybe the power supply.

Can't turn Computer on. Green light on back flashing

when you power up the computer check your smps fan is running then check key bord num lock key is it on and off when u press numlock key?
if it on and off then your computer is ok it should be screen resolution isssue.
For that when you power up the computer press F8 key then enter in enable vga mode then go to control panel and dispaly settings then change screen resolution to 1024*768 then apply and ok.
If it not works then open cpu cover and refix RAM.
also pull cmos cell from mother bord for 15 minute so all settings are reset to factory defaults.
then again put cmos cell in its position then check.

Green light blinking on back of my system unit but there is no power

I had this problem and i tried everything to make it work. Now all i do is put a hairdryer at the back whilst the computer is plugged in until the light stops flashing then switch on as normal. I also noticed that when the air is warm i do not have to use the hairdryer hopes this helps.
