Screen wont stay on. Now wont turn on.

Hi

Thank you for your query

Please try the following

1) Ensure the fuse in the monitor has not blown
2) If there is a 3 pin (kettle type lead) power lead try changing that

if the above 2 fail then your monitor is faulty and will need to be replaced/repaired

If this has been useful please leave positive feedback/vote/testimonial

Computer wont detect monitors

hi kathy, please
give some more details:
does the monitor switch on without the computer? (press the menu button to access the menu for contrast, colour etc... to find out)
if yes, good.else get another one with vga plug( 9 pins), not the new HDMI...
the machine is like 10 yrs old,
now replug, turn on machine and wait if it does give you a boot screen

if not the graphics card might be broke and must be replaced.

- try to get an older graphics card (AGP)
plus drivers suiting the operation system
(like win2000/ win xp home)
u want to install (you'll need an original installation cd of that windows version,
as well) at ebay or in computer store or ask some tech freaks u know
if they do have left over one.

then you'll have to remove the old one...

if you got it:

switch off the machine, unplug all cables,
unscrew the chassis, remove old card carefully from slot, put in the 'new' one
reassamble everything, replug and turn it on.

it could work now...
when facing the windows installation, even if ti is win 98, please post another request on fixya.
hope i was of a help

I have a microtek 17' monitor model is 41f

This can be caused by low Screen Refresh rate. Eg 60Mhz. To increase this go to Display propertes > Setting > Advance > Monitor > Screen Refresh rate
Your graphic driver must be installed correctly to be able to make this change.
Please tell me If this dont fix

Menu window opens and stays in view yet not called for it

This is a hardware issue of Monitor.
Most probable reason is defective key switches.Test switches some maybe leaky-Replace.

If both monitors are shaking, problem is with video card or motherboard, you might try loading specific drivers for your video card or try changib=ng refresh rates.
