Nokia E65 and Kenwood KDC BT100 bluetooth handsfree unit

Hello,

you cannot use the Nokia E65 with KDC BT100 bluetooth handsfree unit (an external unit to add bluetooth capabilities to your compatible Kenwood car stereo) unless you are running a firmware release >2.x

You can read your Nokia phone's firmware release by typing: *#0000#

With any firmware older than 2.x, the phone will find the BT100 and even pair with it, but the phone will not show up on BT100's phone list.

In some cases, Nokia E65 can also *crash* the BT100 unit. If this happens, the BT100 will disappear from your car stereo's menu. The only way to bring it back to live is to unplug the power of your car stereo. A simple off/on cycle will not be enough.

I put the face back on my radio this morning,it displayed hp error 68 disconect

Hello,

Error 68 means it is trying to connect to a bluetooth enabled cell phone. You should turn off the blue tooth pairing options under the radio options. Go through the menu and you should find it.

I hope this helps

My stereo system is showing HF error 68 and will not connect to my mobile phone. The system is a KDC BT50U

This error has nothing to do with installation - there is a bluetooth compatibility issue.
Not all bluetooth devices are compatible, and some only have limited functionality.

If you have already reset the unit, and the problem persists - the phone you are pairing is not compatible with the radio.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question.

I have a kenwood excelong kdc-x993. my bluetooth compatible phone is paired with my reciever, and has been working fine for two months.Suddenly it stopped working, and the bluetooth doesn't work at all. On...

Try deleting the stereo from your bluetooth profile in your phone. Then try disconnecting the positive battery lead for a minute or so and reconnecting to reset the stereo. Then try again. If not, contact Kenwood support, and if it's still under warranty period, I would complain :)

Kenwood KDC-119 car stereo problem

There is a small hole at the bottom of the stereo face that will reset the system. I pushed a pen tip into the hole and it turned the stereo off. When I removed the pen, the system turned on and the CD ejected. Problem solved.

Security Code for Protect mode

Turn on the car so the radio is flashing "Protect." Look on the front / removable face of the stereo. On it you will find a small round hole - that's a reset button. Find a small paper clip, unfold the clip and stick it gently into the hole. The "Protect" will stop flashing, and Kenwood will be displayed. Unfortunately all your settings/presets will be gone, but at least the stereo is working again!
