You have to do this all in standby mode. When you scroll up there should be a "Demo-ON" then push the am/fm tuner to the side like you are changing the channel. It will say then "Demo-Off".

To turn off demo mode. Hold down the src button and hit the reset button and release it. Continue holding down the src button until the system is fully rebooted. You will then be able to eject your cd and it will be out of demo mode. Came from Kenwood tech support.
