Yes, the orifice will is in the center of each burner and will unscrew.  Make sure new orifices get installed in the correct burner or it won't work properly.  I think you will use a 6mm nut driver to unscrew the orifices.  Can use a ratchet and socket also.

If the unit is brand new they usually come with the lp orifices.  They usually put them in a plastic bag somewhere on the back of the range.  They are different than the natural gas orifices.  If it didn't come with the range you will have to buy them.  Try or  Will need the entire model # from the sticker on the range to look up parts.  Most place have comparable prices on parts.

Sorry, I'm not having much luck finding anything on this one.  I would see if you can adjust the flame by adjusting the orifices (screw them down).  Might want to call ge if no luck.

How do I know orifice in right burner

This is kind of hard to answer, You need good eyes or a magnifying glass. Was the range converted from natural gas to LPG (propane) or reverse? Basically, the larger the burner, the larger the hole in the oriface. If in doubt, you can try swapping 2 of them. (Use a 5mm socket).

Why does Oven soot up during use?

Are you on propane (LPG) or natural gas? I would guess that you are on propane, and that your oven has not been converted over to LPG correctly. The regulator needs to be set up for LPG, and the oven gas orifaces need to be tightened down, and the air valves opened up. If you don't know what these terms mean, then you need to contact a professional, because you don't want to monkey around with gas!

Problem with Kenmore 970-334780 Gas Kitchen Range / propane gas /to natural gas

hello Lorraine,

Most gascookers heve the possibility to change from LPG to natural gas.
You need to change the injectors. The holes in the injectors for LPG are smaller that the ones for natural gas.
I send you a link of Ebay where you can see what you need to look for.
Sometimes the oven can give a problem when it is gas too.

Kind regards, Dik

I have a Sears Kenmore Elite 790 hooked up to propane .. is it ok to have it hooked up to propane or is this over for natural gas only?

Kenmore Gas ranges can be used with Natural gas or Lp. They come from the factory set up for Natural gas so if you want to use Lp it needs to be converted by you or your gas company. There are several adjustments that have to be made and some ranges require orifices to be changed. Your installation manual tells how to convert it but if you're not sure about doing it you would be better off the call the gas man.

Stove converted from natural gas to propane burners work fine but oven has about 8'' of yellow flame and comes up over diverter into oven. air shutter makes no difference full open or full close and...

The orifice, holes that the gas comes out to the burner)s) for the oven was not changed out.Gas is measured in inches, Natural gas runs abourt 5-7 inches of presure, Ppropane runs about 12-15 inches of pressure, much more. The orifices, holes that the gas comes out, for natural gas, are larger to send more gas to burner. With propane, the orifices are WAY smaller, because the pressure is much higher.

Switched from natural gas to propane now oven flames up sides how do I fix? Model#362.75571691

Propane and natural gas are two different fuels and require adjustments to the appliances to which theye are connected. Typically, when converting to propane from natural gas, a pressure regulator and a change in gas jets are required. This is because propane has a different heating value (hotter) and behaves differently.

Also, propane doesn't burn as cleanly as natural gas so after you have made the hardware changes, if you start to smell something in the kitchen, you may need to crack a window slightly to provide for better venting.

Please be careful

Ge propane kitchen range changed to natural gas.can't get the ove

Hi, Did you flip the cap on top of the regulator? As far as adjusting the bake/broil orfices, all you will nee to do is turn them 2 full turns counter clockwise. Start the oven and watch the flame. It should have blue tips as much as possible.
You might have to raise or lower the orfice adjustment as needed.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

How to convert from natural gas to propane

All stoves in this country come from the factory with orifices designed to use natural gas. To switch over to propane, the orifices have to be changed over. Contact your propane provider and they will obtain the proper orifices for your range. They may even install them for free. good luck.
