The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.
1. Turn PC on. 2. Plug camera cable into Camera. 3. Plug camera cable USB end into computer USB port. 4. Turn on Camera... wait until camera show message 'USB, PC, Pictbridge'. 5. PC should be selected if not select by highlighting and press shutter button. 6. Press 'Shutter' button. 7. Window 'Autoplay' appears on PC. Select 'import' in Autoplay window. 8. Another window will ask you to name your picture folder. Give it a name. 9. The pictures download to the picture folder automatically. 10. Simply remove the memory card from your camera before connecting the camera to your computer. The computer will then see the camera's internal memory instead of the card memory, and you can copy the pictures over.
If you have been accessing your pictures by removing the card from the camera and placing it in a card reader attached to your computer, then this won't work for pictures in the internal memory. You will need to use the other method, connecting the camera to the computer with the USB lead.
Insert the recording media containing the pictures into the camera.
Depending on your camera, set the USB Connection or Transfer mode setting in the menu to the Mass Storage , Normal , or PTP .
Use the USB cable supplied with the camera to connect the camera to the computer. IMPORTANT:
Connection
through a USB hub or other USB device -- such as a printer or keyboard
-- is not supported and cannot be guaranteed. Connect the camera
directly to a USB port on the computer.
If the USB connection
from the camera is not recognized by the computer, disconnect the USB
cable and repeat steps 4 and 5 using a different USB Connection or Transfer mode setting. If the connection is still not recognized, further troubleshooting is available.
NOTES:
The computer will automatically install the USB driver for the camera.
When the camera connection is established, an AutoPlay window will appear.
In the AutoPlay window, click Import pictures .
In the Importing Pictures and Videos window, click the Import button. NOTE: After the pictures have been imported, the Windows Photo Gallery window will appear and display thumbnails of the imported images.
If this doesn't work there is an updated driver available
