Lexmark E220 this printer has worked fine for several years. Suddenly it keep telling me "Load paper" while the paper tray is full. It will only print one page at a time which is a real nuisance when you try to run off a lengthy document. I am not a 'techy" - all I've done is turn it off and on. Any advice?

Go the Lexmark website and search on support for their telephone number. I've always had a experience with their support team even if the printer is out of warranty.

Load ltr means to load letter size paper. If its saying try 1 load ltr - its saying that you are out of letter size paper in tray number one of your printer.

there is a black or grey tray at the front bottom of printer.just pull out the tray and load the paper in that tray and then reinsert the tray in proper position. ----This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya

Paper jams can be tricky to solve. The paper is usually stuck inside the printer mechanism so even if there is no visible paper jam, you will still get the paper jam error. Try this:

1. Turn off your printer
2. Open all trays and remove any paper stuck there
3. Locate the button to open the printer, open it and remove any paper stuck there also.
4. Repeate the above step for all buttons that you can find to access the inside of the printer
5. Close all doors and put back all trays
6. Turn on your printer

verify paper tray is set for correct paper. print the configuration menu and check the paper size for tray 1. If it does not have right size, examine the tray bottom to see if slider is in place

Check the paper size setting in the printer. Set it to the paper size you normally use such as A4 and the default tray. Check the default paper size in the printer driver in your computer and the default tray. Finally, check the paper size of the document you are printing. If all these match, it should not try to be smart and ask you to feed paper.

Try loading paper in both trays. Tray '2' is supposed to be the bottom tray. It is a much larger tray than the top tray which sits underneath the duplexer.

IBM 4039 drivers also work for this model.
