Question about RCA 27V520T 27" TV

1 Answer

Have a three week old TV

 Serial #  RCAHD44LPW62YX1

 Model # F344C600E

Just started that noise. Seems to be getting louder.

Book states it is in its lamp cool down cycle when you hear this, but this is running all the time the TV is on now. It is annoying to say the least.

Hello olfogieo,

This sounds like the IHVT (flyback) is arching and or going bad or the horizontal frequency is changing. you may have to remove the back of the TV and tell me if you see any arching from the flyback.  I would not suggest that you attempt to repair this since the high voltages section have voltages that can kill.

I have the same problem with the HLR4667W model.

The noise could be from the try joint on the main Board please try resoldering them all.
Main filters are common to be targeted.

Toshiba 36zp18q buzzing noise.

Humming sounds come from the power supply and buzzing sounds come from other circuitry. Most likely a capacitor somewhere.

TV Making a Loud Noise

this can happen with the flyback transformer's brightness which can be adjusted , also the power transformer can make humming or buzzing sounds which can't be adjusted , also this can happen with the picture tube or the CRT board failing , and sometimes chips with heat sinks or the IC's themselfs

Sanyo tv ds25390 buzzing sound

I had the same problem with the same model.
The solution was to replace a capacitor, C622, which is located near
a small blue rectangular plastic component.
This component is a relay that is controlled by C622. I paid $2.39 for
the part, $8.99 for S&H for a total of $11.38. This fixed my problem!

Picture went out and all the tv does is make a buzzing sound

The horizontal output transistor drives a transformer that gives you the high voltage to light up the picture tube, either the transistor or the transformer have gone bad, sometimes both have to be replaced and sometimes the transistor fails for no reason by itself.Be safe and call for help if you are not familiar with tv service.
