Question about gotomeeting.com

1 Answer

Error 12039 We're experiencing Error 12039. Our computers all share same specs albeit we have different networks. GoToMeeting has worked on Win7 and XP but peculiar thing is, there are instances wherein it works on one computer but it doesn't on another unit that shares the same network. Sound drivers are clear and so is internet connection so we're wondering where the problem lies and how it could be fixed. Any help?

System error code 12039 means "The application is moving from a non-SSL to an SSL connection because of a redirect." This error code may also display as "ERROR_INTERNET_HTTP_TO_HTTPS_ON_REDIR" or as a specific value.

I have seen this question raised before on this forum- some suggested removing gotomeeting and re-installing it; others claim that if you have the "Ask" toolbar- to remove the toolbar due to conflicts; some others suggested updating your web browser while others suggested getting help support at gotomeeting.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

HP1020 problem with a livebox and WIN7 configuration

I found it somewhat difficult to completely Unshare files and folders on my HomeGroup Network and still allow Printer sharing in Windows 7 (Home Premium).

Initial UnSharing still allowed files like those below to be viewed on other home network computers:

C:/Users/

{user x} (folder)

AppData (folder)

Default (folder

Public (folder)

desktop.ini (file)

Other computers on the home network could step through many levels of hiarchy in the AppData folder and appeared to have "Delete" access!!

To completely decouple the computers, I had to go through the following several different Sharing/Unsharing assignment locations, till I could completely break the linkage.

I would appreciate any clarifications or simplifications.

File UnShare Confusion on HomeGroup Network

There are several different Network Sharing/Protection assignment locations in Windows 7.

To prevent all sharing between computers on the Homegroup Network, but allow Printer Sharing:

1) Start->Control Panel ->Network and Sharing Center->Choose Homegroup and sharing options.

Uncheck sharing boxes that you don't want to share. Save changes.

2) Start->Control Panel ->Network and Sharing Center->Choose Homegroup and sharing options->Change advanced sharing settings.

Click "Turn off Public folder sharing (people logged on to this computer can still access these folders)".

3) Start->Control Panel ->Network and Sharing Center->Choose Homegroup and sharing options->Change advanced sharing settings.

Choose Media streaming options.

Click "Block All" button. Turn off. Click OK.

Anomaly Note: You have to close Control Panel and repeat all step 3 again for the change to take effect.

4) Open Windows Explorer.

a) Select "C:/", select "Users" folder with single click, then click "Share with" in toolbar.

b) Select Advanced sharing.

Under Sharing tab, select Advanced Sharing. Uncheck box labeled "Share this folder". Apply and close.

5) Open Windows Explorer.

Select "C:/Users/", select all folders and files under "Users", then click "Share with" in toolbar, then click "Nobody".

6) Verify success by going to other home network computer(s) and trying to access your files and folders. You should only be able to see there is a computer and not be able to see any folders of files.

Gotomeeting drops connections

Voice, video, etc over the internet requires a decent Internet broadband connection. This means if the network your computer(s) is connected to is slow, it will greatly reduce the performance and reliability of services like GoToMeeting.

Why cant my windows xp share printer w windows 7?

Hi Chris,

Make sure that both Computers are turned ON if you are printing from Win7 through Win xp

Also make sure that the printer is installed on both machines and that the printer sharing is set up, and that both computers are on the same Workgroup.
Also make sure that the Turn On network discovery is activated in windows7 for XP to be able to detect it on the network, and that the File Printer Sharing is also activated, make sure everything in the sharing settings is activated in the network.

I hope that this will help,

Setup a new network under Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Setup a New connection > Setup a new Network. You need to make the Desktop as an Access point network. This will allow the Netbook to use the Desktop as a "router" and connect threw it to the internet. This is most likely the most time consuming way of doing it. The best bet would to pick up a cheap netgear or linksys router for better stability and ease of access.

I had that error. In my case, my "Num Lock" in the Keyboard was not On and that was causing the password to be incorrect. Once I entered correct password, the error did not come out and I could start GoToMeeting normally.

Go to your network and sharing center. Choose homegroup and sharing options. Change advanced sharing settings. Under your home or work profile, scroll down to file sharing connections. Switch to enable file sharing for devices that use 40 or 56 bit encryption. If that does not work, under password protected sharing, select "turn off password protected sharing". This is not recommended if you use your computer in multiple locations (laptop). I have found that turning all of these features off, running a scan from the printer successfully and then turning them back on, Windows seems to be comfortable allowing the printer to connect to the computer.

First question, are you using the correct driver for your printer on the Win7 platform.

That is the simplest thing to resolve.

Loader Error - GoTo Meeting GoToMeeting failed to start, or exited with an error. Please try again.

Huh. I usually wouldn't do this but I suggest using a different remote assistance program. Here's a great one that I suggest for you. It's called TeamViewer, you can do everything you could do on GoToMeeting. I hope it helps and I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

Not able to install Citrix GoToMeeting

Hi!
I am a Vista user and did have the same issue, so here what I did in order not to have this annoying error (I am not sure what action specifically did the trick):
1) Did it via Firefox (make sure you have the latest one);
2) Go to java.com and install the latest java update;
3) Go to gotomeeting.com->Login->re-install software->download manually and save g2m_download.exe file;
4) Now do Unblock and Apply in g2m_download.exe file property General tab;
5) Then Vista users need to disable UAC, I suppose this is the same as "Uncheck the “Protect my computer …”" (Go to "Control Panel" and type "UAC" into the search box. This will bring up the link: "Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off." Click it. Uncheck the box next to "Use UAC to help protect my computer" then click OK. Restart.);
6) After restart right click on g2m_download.exe and "run as administrator".
Thats it!
