SOURCE: Installing 2nd timer (T104M) for pool light. Tried

You do scare me. I'm afraid this project is over your skill level. The "HOT" side of the circuit come thru the breaker as the black wire. The "ground" wire is normally white and is attacked to the grounding bar in the electrical enclosure. Are you really ready to do this project? A wrong move could kill you!

SOURCE: installing a outdoor timer t104m

Open following link for wiring diagrams and manual.

240Volt T104 can be wired many different ways.
What is the significance of 'next to the pool pump timer?'
Are you getting power off the 240V pool pump timer to operate the new T104? This is perfectly fine. The pool pump wires would bring power from the breaker box.
Is the new T104 going to control 120Volt lights? The timer can do that, it just has to be wired correctly.
In any case, the T104 has 240Volt (or 277V) clock motor, and clock will not operate with 120V

If you add specific details, I can help with exact wiring diagram for your project.

SOURCE: I have 2 intermatic T104M

You might have to add a comment to help sort this out.
USUALLY but not always, if your red wire is connecting to terminal 3 on one timer, then it also connects to terminal 3 on other timer BUT these timers can be wired many different ways.
I have T104 timer on my desk and know the terminal numbers and wiring but I can't see your wiring.

Always take a photo of wiring before starting the replacement process.
Timers should not have both solid and stranded wire connected to same terminal because screw plate will tighten down on solid copper wire, but stranded wire will be loose.
Also make sure that no part of insulation on wires is under the screw plate.

If you are flipping it off manually and it still won't shut off then the contacts are burnt together internally.
This means that you need to change this timer out....
If you switch it with the same timer you will not need to change the whole box... the old board will snap out and the new board will just snap in the old box, making the change out much more simple.

Pool pump clock

T104M used WG1573 clock motor:
The timer mechanism has metal gears, while the clock motor has plastic gears. If the metal gears get dirty and bind, it will strip the plastic gears.
Turn off power, pull timer out of box, Clean out timer with compressed air, and spray WD40, add a bit of white grease to lever where trippers make contact, then replace clock motor ... and buy another set of trippers to have on-hand since they are designed to wear down so timer will last longer.
If timer body is broken so dial does not rotate, then buy new T104 and snap new mechanism into old box. Buying whole T104 with enclosure is cheaper than buying T104M mechanism only.

How can i set up the time of the pool light in the a box model T10004R?

Typical T1000R series pool control center has space for 2 timers, and comes with one T104M 240Volt timer. Additional timer mechanism can be added to control lights, etc.

Copy following link for setting T104 series Intermatic clock, with link to wiring diagrams.

Intermatic pool timers are extremely durable and versatile, and modular so they can be repaired almost indefinitely using ez-to-locate parts

Just intstalled a T104M according to the diagram and all the diagrams found on the web. The clock timer doesn't work. I can manually shut off the pump from the timer. I thought it was a bad tim

T104M is 208-277 timer mechanism that fits inside any Intermatic enclosure.
If voltage is not correct, then clock motor will not operate.
Since you did not say what voltage, I assume you have 240Volt pool pump.
Open following link to see the many ways to wire this timer:
It is possible that you have the Load and Line wires reversed.
Line wire come from circuit breaker, and Load wires go to pump.

If the T104M mechanism is part of a control panel with more than one timer, and/or a freeze control, then re-post question with more specific information.

I dont know how to set the timer

Question posted under Intermatic T104 series timer and pool control center.
Open following link to see how to set this timer:

Intermatic T12404R control center has 2 timers.
Each timer is set same way.
Timer must be reset after power outage. If time dial is not rotating correctly or is sticking at the tripper, then the WG1573 clock motor can be replaced by homeowner.
Both timers are 240Volts, and can be wired in variety of ways to control different voltages. For example 120Volt pool lights, and 240Volt pool pump and pool heater etc.
Each timer snaps out of control center using thumb spring located top inside box.
Each timer mechanism is sold separately. One timer is T104M. The other is T104M201.
The difference is that the 201 has a 'fireman's switch' that can be wired to pool heater, and the switch turns off heater 15-20 minutes before turning off pump.
Each timing mechanism can be repaired by homeowner using available clock motors and trippers.

I have a Intermatic T40404R and need a replacement timer. I have examined the timers in my unit and find no part numbers. Other sites offer a T101M as well as a T104M. Which is the correct timer for my...

Thank you for including model number.
Intermatic catelog shows that T40404R is shipped with two T104M timer mechanisms.
However the mechanisms can be changed out for either T101M or T104M, and these timers can be wired many different ways so there is not 100% certainty unless you know or test voltages.

Here's the general difference
T101M is 120 Volt with 120Volt clock motor
T104M is 240 Volt with 240Volt clock motor

You can buy $20 clock motor and $3 trippers and fix the timer mechanism instead of replacing it.

Intermatic Pool timer will not turn off... I have to shut off the pool pump at the breaker... Any suggestions on what the problem might be?

If the pool pump timer is not working, first look and see if the clock dial is moving, if not then you need to check the 120volt breaker that feeds it ,, then you would check the connections on the timer to be certain that they are correct.
