Hi, I recently got a customer with that problem and reset did not help. Traced the problem to psu in the controlunit(not the psu inside the sub). I noted powersense was to low(was about 2v instead of 5V) I replaced the capacitors position c31 and c41 (2.2uF/50 v) and that fixed my problem..

hi there
i live in Thailand and just made my HT-TX500 region free,
this is what i did

your dvd must be off with no dvd inside
push power on wait til no disc come up then push enter
then push 84269 then push enter then wait for the dvd to turn off
wait 5 mins.then push power on and that worked for me

Power supply to Samsung HT-TX500. The model of the power supply is ORTP-993. The stby LED lit constantly but nothing happens. Does anyone know where i can find the schematic for this PSU? Thanks!

I don't know. However..I was in IT for many years and build my own computers. Be extremely, extremely, careful if you plan on opening up a power supply case. The capacitors in a power supply can hold to up 1000 watts of energy sometimes for several days. You touch the wrong thing you could get a fatal shock, or at the very least, a severe burn and quick trip to the emergency room of the nearest hospital. Trust me, I know what I am talking about.

Hi all. Where can i order/buy a 13 pin cable (system cable) connecting the dvd player to the subwoofer? Samsung ht tx500 home theatre system.

Look in the manual for replacement part numbers - then google-it to find one.
Otherwise, I did find an ebay listing. search for "samsung subwoofer 13-pin" - 1st listing...
It looks correct, but I certainly can't guarantee it will work.

Samsung HT TX500 won't play any dvd, just states that there is no dvd, or keeps attempting to load the disk (makes a loud whirring sound)
