My Oasis washer flooded the basement during a wash cycle? How do I fix this?
If the machine doesn't stop filling, it can be one of 2 problems. 1. the inlet valve has jammed open - water will continue to come thro when machine is switched off. 2. the pressure switch has failed. This is located at the top of the machine under the top cover and has a tube about 1/4 inch diameter attached to it, leading down to the drum. As water enters the drum, pressure builds up in this tube & operates the pressure switch turning off the inlet valve. Either the pressure switch is faulty or, more likely, the tube has a hole(maybe tiny) in it and is not allowing the pressure to build up. To test the switch, pull off the tube at the switch. Connect another similar piece of tubing to the switch about a foot long. Switch the machine to start filling. Blow down your new tube to the switch. The pressure you create should switch off the inlet valve while you keep the pressure up. If the water stops coming in, the switch is ok - suspect the tube. If the machine continues to fill, the switch is faulty.
