You will need to use the Sharp Network configuration program. This should allow you to setup the printer for network printing. You will want to use 'manual' settings for the IP. Example

IF DHCP is used, you will want to switch to Manual and put in a 'correct' ip.

IP Address: 192.168.1.189
Subnet:      255.255.255.0
Gateway:    192.168.1.1

The Gateway will not be necessary if you do not plan to use the advanced functions to e-mail scans, and prints.

Perfect! You know the IP of the printer!!! :)

Now that you have the ip (That you can ping)

    Install a new printer
    Click "add new port'
    Choose "Tcp/IP Port"
    Put in the IP address
Follow the Printer installation as you normally would. :)

How to set up D-Link router

Remove the cable that is attached to the "Internet" port on the rear of your DSL or cable modem.
Plug the Ethernet cable into the "Internet" port on the modem and plug the other end of the cable into the "Internet" port on the rear of the D-Link router. Attach the power adapter to the port on the rear of the router and plug the adapter's cord into a outlet.
Remove the power cord from your modem and wait 10 seconds before plugging it back in. This will reinitialize your modem and force it to establish a connection to the D-Link router. Your router will immediately begin distributing a wireless network with the "D-Link" network name.
Connect your computer to one of Ethernet ports on the rear of the router and open a Web browser. Type "http://192.168.0.1" into the address bar and press "Enter." Enter "admin" into the username field and type "admin" again into the password field. Click "OK" to open the wireless configuration page. Click "Wireless Security Setup Wizard" to create a wireless password for your router's network. Click "Apply" to save the changes to the router's settings.

I'm facing a problem to attached the documents and unable to download. please solve this problem at the earliest.

To attach a file do this: 1.log in with your account 2.Go to NEW (found in the left side of yahoo mail, beside CHECK MAIL) 3.Click ATTACH which is found just right above TO or to whom you'll be addressing your message to 4.Just click on the file you want to attach and that's it. Your mail is ready to go. ;)
If you're unable to download the file which was sent to you, maybe the program used to create the file is not currently installed on your computer. Check it with the sender, asked which format/file program it was created so that you could open it right away.
Hope you find my solution helpful. Please don;t forget to rate my solution. Thank you! ;)

How do i hook up my playstation 3 to the internet using a cable modem

  • Unplug the power cord and the USB cable or Ethernet cable coming from the modem.
  • Wait two minutes and then plug the power cord back in which will reset the modem.
  • Take the straight through Ethernet cable and run it from the LAN port on the back of the PLAYSTATION®3 into the ethernet port on the modem (you may need to unplug the Ethernet cable already in there. Also, make sure a USB cord is not connected to the modem as this will cause your PLAYSTATION®3 not go online).
Turn on the PLAYSTATION®3 to log into the PLAYSTATION®Network (you may need to log in manually if your settings are not set to automatically login). When you are done with your online activity with the PLAYSTATION®3, turn off the PLAYSTATION®3 (refer to the Quick Reference manual) and then follow these directions:
  • Remove the Ethernet cord going from the ethernet port on the modem to the LAN port on the PLAYSTATION®3 out.
  • Reset your modem as you did before my unplugging the power cord for two minutes and then replug the Ethernet cable/USB cord coming from the PC to gain internet access onto your PC. (Please note that this step can be skipped if you do not want to have internet access on your PC at this particular time or do not have a PC at all.)
  • When you would like to log back onto the PLAYSTATION®Network please follow the steps beginning at the top.
The modem setup should appear like this:
modemonly.jpg
From there, please follow these instructions (from SCEA):
  1. Select "Network Settings" under "Settings" in the home menu, and then press the "X" button.
  2. Select "Internet Connection Settings", and then press the "X" button. When a message stating that the Internet connection will be terminated is displayed, select "Yes", and then press the "X" button.
  3. Select "Wired Connection", and then press the "X" button.
  4. Select "Easy" or "Custom" and adjust settings as necessary. Follow the on-screen instructions to adjust the required settings.
Note: You should always choose Easy before going onto to adjusting the Custom settings. In most cases, the Easy settings will work and are set automatically so you won't have to search for information that could have been gathered automatically.

I have an older model armada 7800 that I am trying to get connected to the internet. Where does the ethernet cable go on this model? The only place I see for it is in the back, but the cable does not fit...

It may not have a place for an Ethernet cable. These older laptops required special cards to be attached to them or inserted into a special port for them to work with an Ethernet cable. The port your referring to might be for a phone cable which means it would have a modem and be dial-up only.

Plug the router into your pc with an ethernet cable ( unless you can log onto the router wirelessly ), log onto the router and set/change your network key.
If you are unsure how, just google youe router and set up.
When you have your network key from the router you can set your wireless printer up

How cann i easily get my ps3 hooooked up to the internet???

here is the most simple way using your computer modem

Yes, you can setup with just a modem for broadband access and still play online with the PLAYSTATION®3. You will not be able to access your PC and PLAYSTATION®3 online at the same time. The following steps need to be taken to play using just a modem:
  • Unplug the power cord and the USB cable or Ethernet cable coming from the modem.
  • Wait two minutes and then plug the power cord back in which will reset the modem.
  • Take the straight through Ethernet cable and run it from the LAN port on the back of the PLAYSTATION®3 into the ethernet port on the modem (you may need to unplug the Ethernet cable already in there. Have the n+ wireless router/modem trying to connect via a cable to xbox live but keep gettin insufficient MTU even though the actual MTU of the router is higher than required

You may have to use trial and error to find the best MTU fit:

MTU Default of 1500 to 1492
Tart the setting the MTU @ 1400

MTU setting. Xbox LIVE requires a minimum MTU setting of 1364.
The information your console sends and receives is broken up into "packets" for transmission over your network. MTU is a setting that controls the size of these packets. If it's too small, you won't be able to connect to Xbox LIVE.
Top Solutions Try these solutions in order. If you give each one a shot and you still can't connect, contact Xbox Customer Support. Note that they will ask you try the suggestions on this page first.
Solution 1: Check your router MTU settings Xbox LIVE requires a minimum MTU setting of 1364. Usually, you can change your MTU setting from your router configuration web page, which is supplied by your router manufacturer.
Learn how to find and use your router configuration page
Look for the MTU setting on the router configuration page. When you find it, set it to Auto or 1364 (or higher), save your settings, and then try to connect to Xbox LIVE again on your console.

Solution 2: Connect directly to the modem If your router's MTU is set correctly, try bypassing it by connecting your console directly to the modem. This will help determine whether there's a problem with your router or something else on your network.
Note
This may require you to move your console to a location close to your modem. This is a temporary arrangement, meant only to troubleshoot your connection. If your console is connected wirelessly, you'll need an Ethernet cable for this step.
To connect your console directly to your modem (wired connection):
  1. Find the Ethernet cable that runs between your console and the router.
  2. Unplug the cable from the router, leaving it connected to the console.
  3. Find the Ethernet cable that runs between the router and the modem.
  4. Unplug the cable from the modem, and plug the cable from your console in its place.
To connect your console directly to your modem (wireless connection):
  1. Unplug the USB connector for your adapter from the console. The adapter can remain attached to the console.
  2. Plug an Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on the back of the console.
  3. Find the Ethernet cable that runs between your router and the modem.
  4. Unplug the cable from the modem, and plug the cable from your console in its place.
Try to connect to Xbox LIVE again. If it works, there may be an issue with your router. Double-check the MTU setting in solution 1 above. Also confirm that you're using a compatible router, and make sure it has the latest updates from the manufacturer. If the problem persists, you may want to try a different router.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Can't get internet access!!

The proper procedure in any router based network is to get the router on the network first. Plug it into the online cable modem and boot it up. Let it sit for a minute and then boot up wired computers one at a time. Use one of the wired PC's to get into the routers GUI (eg. 192.168.1.1) and see if WiFi is turned on and the permissions or wireless access is not being blocked by any security settings like MAC address or IP filters. It should be wide open. You dont need ANY drivers for a router on a PC unless they are USB drivers for a USB connection straight to the router, never seen one but I have seen a cable modem/router that had a USB connection. If your laptop has a USB wireless device, you need to load the drivers for that onto your laptop, but if it is using the built in ethernet port on the rear or a PC card ethernet card, you just need to plug the ethernet cable to the rear of the router and boot up. Make sure your ethernet device is enabled in windows and you should be good to go. After you gain access to the internet on the wireless device, get back into your router, prefferably on the wired computer and lock your network down with security measures like MAC address filtering, WEP, or other means.

Not able to get on internet wired

When you say you can get on wireless with your laptop does that mean---
You can connect to the router or
You can connect to the internet and get web pages such as google or fixya?

If you can get to google and fixya then the issue is not the router setup to the internet. Otherwise let me know you need help setting up router access to the internet. There will be more questions before I can give you directions to complete that.

When you say cable hookup for the laptop do you mean an ethernet cable to the router? (these cables have wider connectors that the phone wires and connectors -- used for phones and modems) If not what kind of cabling to where? (some installations permit connection via either one ethernet port OR one USB port to their equipment. -- note the OR if you have the router attached to the ethernet port you may be required to move the desktop from the USB port to the router using an ethernet connection (network adapter and cable). This might require the purchase of additional hardware (a network adapter for the PC and an ethernet cable -- if you provide the manufacturer and model of the desktop it will probably be possible to determine if your desktop has a network adapter already)

If you are using an ethernet cable to the router the following are probably items to check.

Can you swap ethernet cables (with a spare) to assure it is not the cable?

Can you hook your laptop or another computer (maybe a friend's) to the existing cable to assure it is good? (you will need to turn off wireless on the laptop to use it, if you know how)

Try switching ports the cable is plugged into on the router to see if that changes anything? (try the same with a known working machine possibly from a friend)

If there appears to be a cable issue perhaps you could test it on a firend's machine and his network to be sure.

Verify the proper installation of the network adapter in the desktop computer.

By testing it on a friends network, if possible?

Depending on what you find there could be additional questions and instructions to purchase additional items, setup drivers for you existing equipment, or a number of other things. Primarily this first set of questions is to attempt to isolate the problem and focus on the solution applicable to your specific situation.
