Your PC can be freezing & lagging due to number of background running applications and problem with registry database of operating system. You should have to manage background services and optimize OS registry using RegInOut to fix errors of it properly.

Save up the $$ and put Windows 7 64 Bit on it if the PC is compatible. You can Google that and find out. I have not heard what is going to done about updates for Vista. As of now it should be working fine. You most likely have a registry issue where too many programs run at the same time and way too many at this same time!
It might be time to upgrade. Buy a new Windows 7 PC!!

Vista isn't very good. Upgrading to 7 will probably fix it, but you could just use another browser. Instead of using Internet Explorer, download Mozilla Firefox for Windows Vista and try it. Seems to work a little better. Make SURE you periodically remove junk from your hard drive and defragment it, or this will happen too.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: pc rebooting itself

My thoughts are that you may have a bad sector on the hard drive and even though you run the restore this issue needs to be dealt with first.
My thoughts is that if you know what type of hard drive is in the PC: 1) SATA or 2) IDE
is to get on to Western Digital's web site and download and burn a copy of their 'Data Lifeguard Tools'
http://www.wdc.com/wdsearch/search.aspx?sq=Dato+Lifeuard+Tools&sl=en-US&sc=

Then:
1) start the PC up with this disk,
2) then fix the disk with this software and
3) then use your Vista disk to reload a fresh copy of the OS back on to the drive and you will be fine.

Blessings,

I have windows vista and internet explorer keeps freezing

The problem is more than likely with Internet Explorer itself, not your computer. If you press Ctrl+Alt+Del, you can start the task manager, which will allow you to close IE without rebooting your entire computer. There's also no need to reformat your hard drive. You can try updating IE to see if that helps, or try using another browser (like Firefox, for example).

Must reboot to connect to internet

It Happens sometime because Machine does not pass information properly so we need to restart our system to reset all settings again.
and Vista still has many bugs on it so these cases are normal until next version release.

Thank you,

If you save your important information and have all you cd disc to reinstall a fresh o/s. This can change what is happening to you. Some times I just will reinstall it a few times over again just to make me feel better. It seem to run extra fine after that.... thesuperboss
