Your battery is probably shot. this would have to be replaced. i ipod had the same problem, and the battery connection was reversed. that is most likely your problem. charging in this case would deplete the battery.

My sansa when its connected to my computer comes on works syncs and everything so as i disconnect it from my computer it' s dead and wont turn on

Three possibilities;
1) You have a dead battery because the battery is no good.
2) You have a dead battery because your Sansa is no longer charging the battery.
3) You have a dead battery because you didn't leave your Sansa tethered long enough to charge it up.

When you have the Sansa c250 tethered to the computer, you should see a tiny yellow lightning bolt flashing, and a battery icon that shows the amount of charge on the battery.

If you see the lightning bolt, but the battery does not charge after being tethered to a working computer or charger for 24 hours, you may need a new battery. You can get one on Amazon.com. Here's a link:
http://www.amazon.com/HQRP-Replacement-Battery-Universal-Protector/dp/B001NZ981S

If you see the lightning bolt, and the battery charges after 24 hours, AND your player works when unplugged--Problem solved! You just need to let it charge for a longer time.

If you do not see the lightning bolt when the player is tethered, and the battery indicator shows "empty," It's likely that the internal plug to your Sansa c250 has broken. Your Sansa is no longer able to charge the battery.

If you happen to be an electrical engineer, or otherwise have a shop full of electronics equipment (including signal injector, volt-ohm meter, needle-tip soldering iron, and stereo magnifying goggles with work lamps) you may be able to fix it yourself. Otherwise, forget it-- your Sansa is dead.

If it's still under warranty, try to get it replaced. Failing that, it's time to get a new MP3 player.

Hope that helps! Please post a message to let others know what happened to your Sansa player.

No power

The possible causes of the problem are:

1. Dead battery
2. Loose wire connection

First, try to charge the player and see if the battery could hold a charge. If not, then connect it to the computer and try to turn it ON. It the player did not turn on, then it's a dead battery.

But if the player turned on while it's connected to the computer, then it's a loose wire connection.

You may remove the cover of the player and re-solder the connection between the battery and the wire.

Thank you and good luck!

My mp3 player says it's fully charged when I connect it but when I disconnect it and try to turn it on it says ''battery dead''.

your battery is most definitely faulty. The reason why you can charge it is your device uses the AC Charge while charging th battery. even when it says "Charge Complete", it is still charging the battery. Have the device sent for warranty repair.

My mp3 player won't do anything!!

Hello there,

It is unlikely that the player is dead but the Usb cable or USB/charging port or the battery is dead. If the player is under warranty you can demand for a replacement. Otherwise check if a replacement usb cable would fix the issue. Otherwise its going to cost you around $30 for repairs.

Nextar MA715 MP3 player wont take a charge.

Best first bet is dead battery. If it is a special battery then do the costings for the repair as it may be cheaper to replace the player.

Gigabeat Will Not Turn On - Battery Flashes Then Goes Dead

have you only been charging it with the usb cable?
try plugging it into a ac adaptor, (make sure the button is in the off position at the bottom)
and it should hopefully restart, then turn it to the on when it's loaded, and leave it plugged in till it's completely charged

that might work

Wont Turn On

I had the same problem with no power. Take out the 4 screws, take out the battery, clean your connections with an eraser, re-assemble it and it should work.
