Question about Samsung Tablet PC

2 Answers

I had a 1Gb SD card in the Q1 Ultra's SD location for about 3 mths. It went in and out very smoothly. Then I took it out and planned to replace it with a 4 Gb SD card. It looked as if the 4 Gb card was too tight for the slot (I don't know why it should be) so I tried replacing the 1 Gb card, only to find that it, too, seemed too tight and wouldn't go in the slot. Any ideas?

There's no obvious sign of breakage, either on the card itself or in the card slot. I'm not sure if there is any way I can conduct a detailed examination of the slot. To naked eye inspection, the slot looks normal.

    Thanks for your help.

SD cards has only 1 size and it should fit to any SD slots (no matter if it's 4GB or 2GB). Make sure that your current 1GB card and/or your 4GB is an SD card (SD cards are similar with other cards like MMC).

If it's an SD card, you need to check the inner portion of the SD slot, because there's something blocking on your 4GB card.

Otherwise, you need to bring your Q1 Ultra to the repair shop to open it and check the inner part of your device.

Have a great day!

How does ram vs internal storage work on tablet?

There are 2 storage in just about every smartphone or tablet. There is an internal storage, usually about 1gb. or 2gb. And there an internal SD storage, which is not same as the external micro sd card. RAM stands for Read Access Memory, it will not work as storage. Now, when you download an app it is usually save in the internal storage. If you move an app without an external micro sd card inserted, you are moving them to the internal SD storage. If possible got to setting>storage and check how is the storage divided, if you insert the external micro sd card it should display 3 separate bars. Also, another way to move apps and other things around is by using ES File Explorer. Check that out first and I hope you do resolve the problem, best of luck.

How to fix not working touchscreen? Do i have to replace it?

The Samsung Q1 is a hybrid, ultra-mobile, touch-screen device that is basically a very small tablet PC. It features a 7-inch screen, weighs a mere 1.7 lbs., features a Windows operating system, doesn't have a built-in keyboard, and comes in a variety of configurations. The Samsung Q1 doesn't offer outstanding battery life, but you can make some moves to boost your computing time.

Dim the Screen

Dim the screen brightness. Four programmable application-launch buttons occupy the right edge of the Q1. One of these, the menu button, calls up frequently-used controls, including screen brightness. Reduce the screen brightness as much as you can, as it's one of the best ways to extend battery life.
Close Power-hogging Apps

Close applications and browser windows when you're done with them. Too many open programs drain the battery. Beware power-hogging apps. Watching a video or listening to music on your Q1 drains your battery life much faster than just using Microsoft Word or checking email. Turn off the Wi-fi networking when not in use. The built-in Wi-fi searches for a network when you're not connected, which drains battery life.

Properly Caring for and Feeding a Battery

Unplug the Samsung Q1 after the battery is fully charged. Leaving your Q1 plugged in 24/7 leads to some discharge from the battery. Consider buying a bigger battery. A 3-cell battery comes with most configurations of the Q1, but you can also buy a 6-cell battery to double the battery life.

Room Temperature is Best

Don't expose the Q1 to harsh conditions. Keeping the device in a blazing hot car in direct sunlight harms your battery life. If you use your Q1 in conditions above 95 degrees Fahrenheit, you can permanently damage the battery. Cold conditions don't harm the battery in the same way, but if you leave the Q1 in the cold, let it warm to room temperature before you use it.

I hope you find it very helpful. Best regards.

I need to install an operating system on a Samsung q1 ultra

Suggest you use an external DVD drive, and put your installation disk in it. Then access the BIOS Setup utility.

In BIOS Setup, find the Boot Order menu. (Generally, along the top headings of the main menu, in BIOS Setup, or located in Advanced BIOS Settings) Set the first boot device to be CDROM. Be sure to Save your change.
This way the handheld, will boot from the installation disk, in your external DVD drive.

Should you be trying to downgrade from Vista to XP, you have to change the first boot device, in Boot Order to CDROM. If not, Vista won't let you overwrite it.
Vista is an upgrade over XP.
