Go under "Google" on the left, there is a down-arrow right of "Gmail."

Click that button right of "Gmail," and you get a bold Gmail because that's what you're in, and normal Contacts and Tasks. Select Contacts and you have access to your contact list.

Select a group and it will be listed in the area used in Gmail for the inbox.

Tip

11 tips for social networking safety

Social networking Web sites like MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, and Windows Live Spaces are services people can use to connect with others to share information like photos, videos, and personal messages.
As the popularity of these social sites grows, so do the risks of using them. Hackers, spammers, virus writers, identity thieves, and other criminals follow the traffic.
Read these tips to help protect yourself when you use social networks.
  1. Use caution when you click links that you receive in messages from your friends on your social Web site. Treat links in messages on these sites as you would links in e-mail messages. (For more information, see Approach links in e-mail with caution.)
  2. Know what you've posted about yourself. A common way that hackers break into financial or other accounts is by clicking the "Forgot your password?" link on the account login page. To break into your account, they search for the answers to your security questions, such as your birthday, home town, high school class, father's middle name, on your social networking site. If the site allows, make up your own password questions, and don't draw them from material anyone could find with a quick search.
  3. Don't trust that a message is really from who it says it's from. Hackers can break into accounts and send messages that look like they're from your friends, but aren't. If you suspect that a message is fraudulent, use an alternate method to contact your friend to find out. This includes invitations to join new social networks.
  4. To avoid giving away e-mail addresses of your friends, do not allow social networking services to scan your e-mail address book. When you join a new social network, you might receive an offer to enter your e-mail address and password to find out if your contacts are on the network. The site might use this information to send e-mail messages to everyone in your contact list or even everyone you've ever sent an e-mail message to with that e-mail address. Social networking sites should explain that they're going to do this, but some do not.
  5. Type the address of your social networking site directly into your browser or use your personal bookmarks. If you click a link to your site through e-mail or another Web site, you might be entering your account name and password into a fake site where your personal information could be stolen.
  6. Be selective about who you accept as a friend on a social network. Identity thieves might create fake profiles in order to get information from you.
  7. Choose your social network carefully. Evaluate the site that you plan to use and make sure you understand the privacy policy. Find out if the site monitors content that people post. You will be providing personal information to this Web site, so use the same criteria that you would to select a site where you enter your credit card.
  8. Assume that everything you put on a social networking site is permanent. Even if you can delete your account, anyone on the Internet can easily print photos or text or save images and videos to a computer.
  9. Be careful about installing extras on your site. Many social networking sites allow you to download third-party applications that let you do more with your personal page. Criminals sometimes use these applications to steal your personal information. To download and use third-party applications safely, take the same safety precautions that you take with any other program or file you download from the Web. For more information, see Before you download files, help protect your computer.
  10. Think twice before you use social networking sites at work. For more information, see Be careful with social networking sites, especially at work.
  11. Talk to your kids about social networking. If you're a parent of children who use social networking sites, see How to help your kids use social Web sites more safely.

Become Unblocked on Facebook
When you are blocked by someone on Facebook, there are few options to unblock yourself. In fact, unless the person unblocks you on their own, you can't become unblocked on your own.
There is one thing that you can do, that requires setting up a new Facebook account.
You can use your same name, but you must sign up with a different email address.
Once the new account is set up, you can proceed to contact the person who blocked you.
Keep in mind that the person may see your online attempts to contact her as harassment and may block your second account as well.

Go to facebook.com and fill in the "Sign Up" section.
Enter an alternative email address that isn't attached to an existing Facebook account in the "Your Email" and "Re-enter Email" fields.
Click the "Sign Up" button once.
Enter the Captcha security code in the text box and click the "Sign Up" button a second time.

Complete the Facebook account registration and find friends, add profile information and upload a profile picture.
These items are optional and you may add them at a later time.
Click the "Save & Continue" button to finish.
Go to your alternative email account and retrieve the Facebook confirmation message.
You will need to click a link in that email before your new Facebook account becomes active. Once the account is active, you can contact the person who blocked your other account.

Someone has hacked into my contacts list and has been sending marketing emails to my contacts with my email adress. people are naturally thinking that it has come from me, which it hasn't. What do i...

    • Thank you for the opportunity to assist you.

    • I have seen this a lot. You have not been hacked per say. You have a nasty malware. What happens is when this link is clicked it harvests your contacts and sends e-mails to your friends as if it was you. It could have been a friend (with you in their contact list) clicking a link as well. Then all your friends get this and some are bound to open it and then their contacts are harvested and it just spreads like mad. Your e-mail is safe.

    • First thing is to secure your account, fortunately Google has some great ways to do this right away. Then you need to contact all in your contact list and tell them to delete any e-mails they might have received from you in the past few days.

    • For Your Account Security:
    1. Settings -> Accounts and Import -> Google Account Settings -> Change Password (pick a new secure password)
    2. Settings -> Accounts and Import -> Google Account Settings -> Change Password Recovery Options (verify secret question, SMS and recovery e-mail address)

    • To Check For Potential Spam:
    1. Settings -> General -> Signature (make sure nothing as been added)
    2. Settings -> General -> Vacation Responder (make sure it's disabled and empty)

    • To Protect Against E-mail Theft
    1. Settings -> Accounts and Import -> Send Mail As (make sure it is using your correct e-mail address)
    2. Settings -> Filters (no filters that forward or delete e-mail)
    3. Settings -> Forwarding and POP/IMAP -> Forwarding (disabled or correct address)
    4. Settings -> Forwarding and POP/IMAP -> POP Download (disabled)
    5. Settings -> Forwarding and POP/IMAP -> IMAP Access (disabled)

    • The steps listed will make things safe again. Keep in mind that who ever did this still has your e-mail address and can continue to use this. So you may consider changing your e-mail if it becomes to confusing for your contacts to differentiate your genuine e-mails from spam. These fake mails "from you" will probably just be a plain link. Sometimes a "OH MY GOSH, LOOK AT THIS" before hand to accent "importance."

    • Good luck to you and please feel free to ask any further questions you may have.

    • If you feel this has been beneficial to you then please rate this solution and leave a comment so that others know of my quality help.

    • Hope this helps.
    Regards,Tony
