Question about Electrosport 1995 Yamaha Yfm400 Kodiak Atv Plug-in Electric Regulator Rectifier
Reverse light will not disengage and bike won't start without pull starting it. Trying to find original manual and can't locate it.
Hi Guys and Gals, the reverse lock out sensor is on top the transmission under the battery box . There are 3 in a row with 2 close together towards the outside edge and one more alone, toward the middle. the one in the middle is the reverse lock sensor, check it with a Ohms meter by see if closes the circuit when you cycle thru the reverse setting, The sensor gets very dirty and oily in this location, so clean it well, around all the sensors there. clean the wires and make sure they connect well. Hint You can ground this sensor and it will disengage . If you can get in there put some electrical tape on the connectors to the light its the green/ white wire.

Nick, having the same problem. wiggle the two wires that go into reverse light bulb on dash, while pressing starter button. this seems to be where my fault is. shorting in there somewhere. very frustrating i know!
