It is possible that different people have different hearing capacity. If 25-30 does the job, be happy. Nothing wrong.

Testimonial: "Don't think my hearing is an issue ; can hear the music at a distance of 7 feet when on volume 2-3 .. Just possibly miscalculated I volume increment .. Expected a radio at volume 25 to be loud .. Can still talk comfortably at this volume across the room ... Is this normal ? Is my unit defective ?"

ONKYO TX-SR307. Problem with volume/sound getting lower. "Setup" does not alter / resolve the issue. Please help

Hi, if this has not been resolved please try the following reset:

To do the reset you need to turn the receiver on, then on the front panel of the receiver press and hold the "VCR/DVR" button while doing that press the "STANDBY/ON" button. You will see the word "Clear" in the display screen and the receiver will go into standby mode. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR AUDIO & VIDEO ASSIGNMENTS ON THE RECEIVER PLUS YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR SPEAKER CONFIGURATIONS, SPEAKER DISTANCE AND ALL LEVEL CALIBRATION SETTINGS. YOU WILL ALSO LOSE ANY PROGRAMMED RADIO STATIONS IN MEMORY. Once the receiver goes into standby mode turn it back on and go thru the setup menu for all custom settings, Thanks, JT

Why bose wave radio touch pad does not work ?

There's a setting to turn the touchpad on or off. Yours has probably been turned off. Here's how to turn it on.
1. Press and hold Alarm Setup (Menu) on your remote until -SETUP MENU- appears in the display.
2. Press Tune/MP3 until TOUCH PAD- is displayed (8 presses)
3. Press Time- or Time+ to select OFF or ON
4. Press Alarm Setup (Menu) to exit the menu, or simply wait 10 seconds.
You're done!

My Bose radio/cd player is making a loud siren noise when you attempt to turn on the radio or play a CD. Does anyone know what this is?

  • The amp has gone bad. You risk blowing the voice coil in the speaker until this is fixed or repaired. There is an electrolyte capacitor that has gone bad.

The alert is to loud, how can I turn down the volume for the alert?

Press the WEATHER/SNOOZE button to turn on the weather radio. Then press the "UP" or
"DOWN" volume button to select desired listening level. (Note: Turning the volume all the way
down [where no bars show] puts the radio into silent mode.)

Hope that helps resolve the issue.

Regards

2007 Saturn Aura XE, the audible alarms can hardly be heard

Good news - they're adjustable. The radio is used to adjust the vehicle's chime level. To change the volume level of the chime, press and hold push-button 6 with the ignition on and the radio power off. The volume level will change from the normal level to loud, and LOUD will appear on the radio display. To change back to the default or normal setting, press and hold push-button 6 again. The volume level will change from the loud level to normal, and NORMAL will appear on the radio display.

Note: Each time the chime volume is changed, three chimes will sound to indicate the new volume selected.

Hi, on my Infinity fx45 2004 Bose system, I'm experiencing a fading cd player volume and sound quality that is triggered or cancelled by car movement. it actually has three different behaviours, 1-very...

With my experience on Car audio systems, the main culprit for electrical trouble is Connectors.

Check the connectors; especially the RCA connectors (Round Coaxail connectors), unplug them and plug them back in while the CD player is playing. Any problem there will be obvious. If that's it, clean them off with a dry cloth, perhaps poke a Q-tip into the receptical to clean that.
Most often, just removing and re-attaching (or even just wiggiling) the connectors is good enough.

This is especially the most likely culprit if you live close the the ocean's salty air, or in a place that had roads salted for snow and ice.

Volume on my Onkyo Receiver

Yes it is. I have the 705. My room mate has the 605. Both AVR's will not have appreciable volume until 50 on the dial.
The dial in not linear. I don't know of anyone who has plotted the scaling of the volume control yet.
I have found much useful user info on avsforum.com. Owners post Q&A based on experiences.
Search the forum for "official onkyo TX-SR605" thread.
Some comparable info may also be found under the "official onkyo TX-SR705".
