after looking over the manual I would first check the drive belt tension and condition. if it's got cracks in it, very shiny or both, replace it. If it's loose check the tensioner arm for proper operation and then look at replacing the belt. let us know if you find an issue with these suggestions.

also you have a transmission that is known for issues with the shifting keys getting worn out. but lets assume at this time that the trans works as should.

My Staples shredder will work in reverse just fine but it will not move forward, rendering it unable to shred anything.

They do this when they get dirty. There is a sensor that tells when it is full, the sensor gets paper dust on it and wont work in forward.
You need to clean it real well. If that does not help then the issue is something else like sensor failure.

If engine revs go high and no forward movement you most likely need a new transmission

I think your torque converter IS the problem. Because it's the only thing that attaches the engine to the transmission and it's designed to "lock up" at highway speeds for overdrive. If it locks up at idle it will kill the engine. If it locks up at slow speeds ( < 35mph ) the vehicle will lurch/buck... And if it wont move in forward or reverse I would say it's time for a new/rebuilt transmission

I work for Office Depot and the Ativa brand we get a lot back with this problem. It is a electrical problem in the sensor and all you can do is get a new shredder.

Could frozen e brakes cause car not to go forward, car moves easy in reverse

No. An emergency brake on the 86 camaro engages the pads against the rotor and the vehicle would not move either in reverse or forward. It sounds like you have a gear problem in the transmission that could be related to either solenoid or actual gear wear. Assuming the vehicle is being MOVED as you say while the engine is running.. thus providing the energy to move it.. Going in reverse has the solenoid engaged one way, drive the other way. Solenoid sounds damaged at this point. Unfortunately this probably will require a transmission rebuild.

Transmission wont go into any gear except reverse my mech said the torque converter sensor is bad how do i change it

NO I think your forward band broke can you manually shift it to low & car moves If so you need trans overhaul. Don't have that mechanic fix your car he is full of it if converter failed or (SENSOR!!) you would also have no reverse

John deere x340 wont move

there is a release usually behind the seat that has to be pulled in order to push it physically. make sure that the release is pushed in for the forward/reverse to work.
