Question about Husqvarna K970 Ring Saw
I have a 16 inch K970. Runs great in the start position but as soon as you plunge into the floor it quits. Seems to be fuel related maybe the carb is not working when tilted. Tank has no vacuum on it when opened.
Always start with a fresh plug. Try to get non-ethanol gas. Check to see if the little weight and filter are still on the little hose in the gas tank.

On the bottom of a hose in the fuel tank. Did you replace or disconnect the fuel lines? I think improperly plumbed. It should be similar to this.
If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. Thank you for using FixYa and Good Luck. HTH

Check the fuel lines for cracks/breaks. If they are o.k., then:
You willneed to disassemble the carburetor and spray with carb.cleaner.Makesure the small screen is free of debris. (Should be able to see daylightthrough it.)
Use a Den Tek Brush, (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=165357&catid=1152),to clean the small portals in carb. These portals can become blocked. Reassemble and start.
If the carb. parts are more than 4 years old, you may have to replace them.
If you need further assistance on:
1. Fuel line replacement or
2. Carburetor kit replacement
Just let me know.

Check for spark after it quits. If none, the ignition module may be dying when hot. If ok, check the muffler for plugging. Use compressed air to remove sawdust from cylinder and head area. If everything looks good, note whether the spark plug is getting wet with fuel after trying to restart the saw. If dry, check the fuel lines for cracking or other deterioration. Make sure the fuel tank vent is clear of debris. (Loosen the fuel cap for a moment, then see if it will start.) Hopefully, one of these suggestions will hit on the problem!

I think your on the right track
Blowing compressed air through your tank vent
is great but it is way more air than the natural asperation
that the saw pulls on it own
I would replace the vent cap and also look for a pinched fuel line between the fuel tank and the carb

SOURCE: Model 345 won't start. New
There is a vent in the tank, it is situated on the right hand side of the tank, close to where the fuel hose exits the tank, the early vent looks like a round white pellet, the later vent is a white plug with a nipple on the top, the later vent will just pull out with long nose pliers, the early vent has to be extracted useing a self tapping screw, this of course will destroy the vent.
