of course I checked the power outlet. It was plugged into a power strip with other things. I even tried changing the plug in location on the strip.

now you have verify if power is making it past on/off switch if not switch is bad. if it is getting past on/off sw. then continue to follow till find at what point it is stopped.

I have a 1991 buick rivera it has no heat from the heater. I have had the cooling system flushed. I changed the temp control module. But nothing Changed.wife getting cold in tennessee winter need help.does...

Sounds like a bad heater element switch or heater core. Sound like the heater control switch. On the front side of the heater core you should find a plug. Pull the plug and remove the two screw. The switch should come out. Replace it.

The dsi flt light will not stay off. water heater is being used by electricity only and gas is off. what do we do and whar is cause of this.

The dsi light is powered by 12 volts, either from trailer converter, or a plug in to a receptacle that converts it to 12 VDC. It sounds like a faulty switch, if you switch it to off and it doesn't go off. . Temporarily, you can pull switch out and disconnect 12 VDC power at spade connector on switch. Be sure to wrap electrical tape around bare spade (female) that has incoming 12 VDC, until you replace switch. Is the water heater actually trying to ignite on gas when light is on? If you don't want to pull switch, look for fuse in fuse panel for water heater, or under counter or wherever, near water heater area for an adapter plugged in with wires running to the water heater and simply unplug the adapter at the receptacle.

The power button does not turn on the heater. It is plugged in to a owrking outlet. Is there a switch problem?

Does your heater have apush button switch or toggle type. Either way if you push in button type and it won't stay in then switch is bad. Will heater come on if you push switch on and hold it? There should be a small red light on top and fan inside of heater. Do they work? If it was me and I really thought that switch was bad I would remove back and wire around switch. If you don't feel comftortable doing this then you are probable better off just getting a new heater. If you do decide to try wiring around switch make sure heater is unplugged and try to trace wires to switch. If it's just a simple on off switch there should be two wires going to it. Disconnect them from switch and temporarily connect together.Plug heater back in and if it works you know switch is bad. Remember if you don't feel comfortable doing this then don't do it. Most of these small electric heaters are available for around twenty dollars,so I wouldn't spend much time or money trying to fix this one.Hope this help some. Thanks
