2010 subaru forester engine cuts out

consider this
when at the stop lights , you will have your foot on the brake as it will still be in drive or in gear and you don't want the car to move
a simple test is to apply the hand brake to stop the car and don't touch the foot brake
if it idles ok but cuts out when you apply the foot brake , replace the brake booster as it has a vacuum leak that is causing the problem
you can do this test in the garage by starting in neutral and allowing the engine to idle , then apply the foot brake
iof it dies it is the booster

My 93 buick park ave dies when i stop. i replaced ics.tps.maf. cam senser.crank senser. i even unplugged torque converter silaniod. help. what do i need to check

does it happen when you have your foot on the brake
( stop lights etc)
if so test by applying the hand brake without the foot brake and if it keeps going , replace the brake booster as it has a vacuum leak from brake operation

Tercel 95 motor dies when itouch break what possibility is

run the motor and just use the hand brake if it runs ok then apply the foot brake and if it dies then the brake booster is suspect as it is letting in too much air (vacuum leak)

Large and small evac leaks? Truck dies at idle/stop signs. Any ideas?

if the problem is when you have your foot on the brakes at the lights ,I suggest that the vacuum leak is from a faulty brake booster
a simple test is to apply the park brake and not use the foot brake and if there is no problem then it is the booster.

What would cause engine yo die at a stop light and not start again. The engine almost turns over but doesnt.

engines stopping at lights can sometimes be attributed to a vacuum leak in the brake booster
test by idling the engine with the hand brake on and no foot brake then apply the foot brake and if the engine dies then it is the brake booster
hard to restart may be the vacuum leak if you still have your foot on the brake.

2008 bmw stop running when stoping 3.o engine

test the brake booster
start the car and idle with the handbrake on. If it idles ok then apply the foot brake
if the engine dies or stops --replace the brake booster
If the engine will not ilel without the foot brake check for a vacuum leak in --the transmission vacuum line , vent control lines or manifold leak.

Drive vehicle down the road for 20 minutes and come to a stoplight engine stops when you take foot off gas peddle and go to apply brake. To keep vehicle from dying you have to hold the gas peddle down

Have you changed the timing belt? or timing belt guides? How many miles? This does not necessarily have to do with fuel.... Could have to do with air intake or timing as well....

They all work the same. Call it parking-brake, hand-brake or foot-brake, it is the same.

Use your hand, or foot to apply the foot-brake, whatever is convenient for you is ok.

Knocking noise from rear when hand brake applied.

i recently had 4 tyres fittede and tyre company had crossed threaded one stud so forcing brake disc to be loose, hence when handbrake applied got thump from brake area.
