I have fire to distributor but not to plugs or fuel pump

I owned a 75 Chevy wagon with HEI ignition and liked to never found the problem. It seems under the center contact on the distributor rotor would get a hole burnt in it, and then all sparks go straight to ground.

I tuned my 5.2 didge engine, cap wires rotor and plugs, and also installed new valve cover gaskets. When I started it, misses, and check engine light on, what did I do?

check the firing order of the plug wires on the cap you may have a couple in the wrong place or they maybe correct at the cap but not at the plugs.

Is there any reason why my 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited shakes when i'm on the break & not so much when I'm driving? My check engine light has came on a couple times now too.

Odds are the shaking when braking (no pun intended) is due to "hot spots" on your front rotors. If they aren't too thin, they can be turned and probably eliminate the problem. I think I'd replace the pads, even if they look good, just to have a fresh start on the front brakes.

As to the engine light coming on, I'm pretty sure there is no connection. Take the car to a auto parts store and see if they can do a free check of the "check engine" light.

Good luck!

How do i replace ignition distributor on 2002 blazer 4.3l engine?

n these engines the distributor engages in one position. You can remove the distributor cap and make a relationship with the rotor and wing position in the same manner to attach the new distributor (check that the rotor shaft coupling with the pump shaft oil)

How can i get the generator rotor off of the engine, i have pulled the bolt out

You can beat on the rotor laminations with a rubber deadblow hammer...hitting it a couple of times then spinning it and hitting it from the other side. Make sure you are not hitting the windings, slip rings, etc... only the laminations. You will not hurt the rotor this way.

Engine cranksfine but does not start.

There are a couple of possibilities. One is the two wire connectin at the coil. The most possible is the distributor cap and rotor which is what I see most often at my shop.

1993 jimmy wont start

you are off the timing by a tooth or two. when you replaced the cap and rotor, if you did not mark the position of the rotor with some point on the motor or firewall, then it is likely that you installed the rotor by a couple of degrees. so, when you are going up hill, and the engine needs to advance the timing to add power you timing is off even more causing lack of power and sputtering and backfiring.
