SOURCE: I dust my coputer out .

Hello....Thats definitly a windows password!! you most likely hit the hibernate button and put in sleep mode. It's very easy to get pass previous passwords with XP (Home or Pro)

There is a boot disk you can download at:
http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

that will let you reset the password of any account on NT4, Windows2000 or XP. Just follow all the default settings which are for the admin account. Used it many times with great success.
They also have a bootable CD image you can download.

SOURCE: I need a wep key

A WEP key is a Wireless Network security key that allows your devices to connect to the Wireless network. It is usually a 10 digit code (alpha numeric) that is set on your Network DSL router. If you turn your router upside down, you can find it printed with a barcode on a sticker attached to the router.

I Had used my lap top And my desk top computer and my pass word went into both. How do I clear this up. I want my desk top--Don't matter about my lap top.

your Facebook account is tied in to an email address. Go to Facebook.com and under the login boxes there is "Forgot your Password" link. Hit this and then insert your email address and a temporary password will be emailed to you. Use that to log in and then change your password to one that you will remember. Good luck.

Trying to link wep code so i can get internet in school.does anyone know how to get a wep code from the school?

You have to contact your school's help desk or tech support. If they put a password on internet access that they allow students to use, they will give you that password.

WEP, wired equivalent privacy, just puts a password on the wireless internet {WIFI} so that only people who know that password can get online rather than any and every one.

I bought new laptop. i try to connect internet . It asked me WEB PASSWORD. I don't remember. can you please help me for to find out password?

Hi,

Please follow the steps on a computer connected to the router so as to check the network key:

1. Open the browser(Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox).
2. Access the router usually http://192.168.1.1 else try http://www.routerlogin.com
3. Login to the router with the Username as admin and password as password (unless you have changed it).
4. Click on Wireless Settings'(under Setup) from the left menu.
5. Check if 'WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy)' or 'WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key)' is selected under 'Security Options'.
6. If WPA-PSK is selected, copy the code entered in the passphrase.
7. If WEP is selected, copy the code entered in the key that has been checked.

This is the code required for connecting the wireless computer to the routers' wireless network.

In some cases, for security reasons the passphrase might show as asterisks. In this case type a new password and click apply. You will then have to use the same password for all the wireless devices connecting to the network.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

If I have helped you, please help me, and rate this suggestion the highest FixYa rating. If you cannot rate this post with the highest rating, then please comment to this post and I will try to help you further.

I only want my desk top computer and my Husbands laptop to be the only people on our wireless network

The router manual should indicate how to set up the router. You may have to use a wire connection to the router when setting it up. Usually you run your browser (explorer?) and type an address like 192.168.0.1 into the address line. A webpage will let you access the settings. Look for the security setup. You want to enable WEP or WPA security with a password. You will have to provide this password to any computers you want to access the router. If your computer doesn't ask for the password, look in start-control panel - network connections - your wireless card - show available networks - choose your router - select WEP or WPA and enter the password.

Can't add new PC to extant WEP 128 network

If your system is encrypted you will need to set it up in xp before you open the media centre as if i remember there is no option to enter a password for WEP. Just open the network card properties and select the TCP/IP line then properties ans select obtain ip address automatically. Then when network is detected enter the WEP password numbers.
