My hp laptop pavillion dv3 video card over heat, then shot down but cooling fan is working properly! what is the solution to these trouble?

the cooling fan in a laptop is mostly for keeping the whole system cool unless you have a custom vid card installed. make sure the vents underneath are clean and invest in a fan for the laptop. I got one on e-bay for less than $10 and have seen them at Wal-Mart for $14. an external fan is your choice I haven't had any problems since I got one for mine

How to fix HP Pavillion series notebooks.

When you experience problems with HP Pavillion series notebooks and even other HP notebooks with Nvidia chip set, like black screen on start up or not working wifi and other problems, the problem is a damage to the MB by excessive heat produced by Nvidia GPU. The only way to fix this permanently is to take out the MB and reflow the GPU with heat. You can find a video on youtube how to do it. You must take out the piece of gel between GPU and cooling unit and replace it with copper bar or penny made prior 1983 - still made out of copper. Also clean the fan. Use heat transfer paste like arctic cool - not a glue, on both sides of the penny. Install win7. Win7 does not use the coprocessor and will help to run the notebook cooler. Install speedFan 4.40 - free utilityor other to see what the temp is of your GPU and CPU. If you did good job it will stay around 55C. If your HP notebook is still running check the temp. If the GPU is running 80C or more it will melt the connections on the MB and quit working sooner or later. Good luck.

This morning when I tried to start my laptop ( HP Pavillion entertainment PC) I got a flash window that due to the cooling fan 902 issues the start up could not happe and I have been advised to contact...

When the CPU overheats then it will shutdown (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down.If this is the problem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes this problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan. If the fan and heat sink is clogged withdust the remove the dust and make sure the vents are clear and dust free. Use acan of compressed air to do this.

The heat sistem is not working well is working but 30% of eficency than it was working beafore. It hear like water on it ..help im frezzing

Air conditioning real definition is not giving cool but removing heat from the room. In same way for heating, it's not heating, removing cool from the room. When your indoor coil, air filter and blower wheel are full of dust, you won't get even 30% of cool or heat depend on your selection.
Simple solution for your problem is clean indoor unit completely. Check all sensor is working well. In heat mode keep temp minimum +3 degree than room temp. thanks and helpful.

How do i get the back off to replace a cooling fan?

i dont know this model but you might find you dont have to replace the fan ,just clean it of dust and gently turn the propeller with the end of a pencic or something, then re-lubricate the centre bearing ,you could even just use 1 drop of cooking oil etc--good luck!!

Won't Start

This happened to my to my HP Media center Edition PC. I'd have to unplug the power from the outlet, let it stop flashing and the power up again. It would run for a short time and then shut off with the annoying amber / blue flashing light.

I found it was a heat problem on mine - specifically, the CPU cooler. After shutting down and opening the PC, check to see 1) if the CPU fan is running smoothly and 2) if there is a lot of dust and dirt on the CPU cooling fan and heat sink (and rest of the case for that matter).

Gently clean / vacuum the insides of the case AND power supply as best you can. Carefully vac the fan blades and heat sink to clear the dirt and dust that prevents the heat from being blown away by the fans.

When complete, you might even want to take the PC outside and reverse the vacuum so that air can be blown into tight places in the case. A can og compressed air can do the job instead, too.

Reassemble and start up as normal. Good luck!

Honeywell th4000 thermostat - fan won't come on. The system set to cool and the temp is set lower than room temp.

That problem is seldom the thermostat.check all fuses and breakers....if they're ok,its prolly an internal problem to the furnace.

Oven fan keeps running even after off and door open

3 to 4 hours is a long time. Get to the fans (behind the control panel) and check the screens for dust. Chances are the screens are clogged with dust and need to be cleaned so the fans can move air for cooling better. I had this problem on my GE JTP14, and after cleaning just one fan it can keep up with cooling the electronic area while the oven is running. It runs much less often.

Safety first! cut the breaker before removing anything with a nice conductive screwdriver! Hope this helps!

I HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH MY PC AS WELL..... I HAVE THE SAME ONE. WHEN YOU USE HIGH CPU APPLICATIONS, YOUR FAN ACCUMULATES LOTS OF DUST IN IT, WHEN THE FAN GETS BLOCKED UP, YOUR PROCESSER DOESNT COOL DOWN, TRY TAKING THE FAN OUT AND THE METAL PART, AND CLEANING IT OUT, BUT DONT TAKE OFF THE WHITE PASTE... JUST TAKE OFF THE DUST FROM THE FAN, THAT SHOULD COOL DOWN YOUR PC AND IT SHOULD STOP RUNNING AT HIGH RPM'S.. FYI... THE FAN IS ALWAYS RUNNING
