SOURCE: How do I access the spill tray under the element

Make sure that all of your burners are off and cool. Raise the stove top. It should tilt from front to back. There will likely be rods inside to hold the top open.

How do I clean under the electric elements on my basic westinghouse stove

Hello friend, thanks for your post!

I understand that you would like to clean under the cooktop on your Frigidaire range. Could you provide me with your model number please? You can locate the serial tag (which lists your model number) on the storage drawer on the right hand side. With this information I can better assist you. -Matt

My GE Monogram gas range will not light. The igniter keeps going off but the gas will not light.

Hi, sometimes cooking spills stop the ignitor from working. Clean the cook top thoroughly and try it again. Spills can also make the ignitor go off randomly when you are not operating your cooker. Check if the ignition point where the zap comes from is not turned or bent too far from its original position. If you have a gas shut off make sure it is fully open to supply enough gas. If all else fails buy a cheap hand held ignitor to start your gas stove. If the cause is a spill which sometimes the problem can persist even after cleaning it may take a while for it to work again. If the problem is with all six burners then your ignitor probably needs replacing. When you hear the ignitor zap check to see if the electronic zap appears to jump across to the edge of the burner. If it doesn't it will not light the flame no matter how many times you try. I hope this helps you.

We are having a dinner party and our 5 burner gas pro series frigidaire stove top is clicking. I tried to turn off and clean the ignitors but nothing seems to work. Please help!!!

you have a stuck ignitor switch. they are mounted just below the knobs. you cant get to them until you remove the unit and then the top.
if you spilled water or something boiled over, it could get into the switches and cause this.
if you reach under the cooktop, in you cabinet, you can just unplug it from the outlet, or try to shut off the breaker to the unit. that will stop the clicking and you can deal with the repairs after your party.

Lifting the top to clean spills

Hi
Look under the counter top find the bolts that secures the stove top, unplug the power and remove the top, then look around the edges of the stove top and you should see some small screws that atach the glass to the frame, remove those and lift the glass carefuly, "DO YOUR THING" and then just reverse the steps and done.

Sugar spills on a hot surface will 'pit' the glass surface. There is no way to repair. The damage caused to the surface is only cosmetic and will not affect the performance or operation.

No Ignition

Dirt. Spilled oil, grease, milk etc. act as isolator and prevent contact between burner and casing (mass). You need to clean up burners, scrub all the dirt and make sure their seats are cleaned too (brass elements below burners).
