Where i can buy a battery and antena for Motorola Talkabout T289 ...thanks

The antenna on this radio is a fixed item and was not sold separately. Your best option on the antenna is to locate a used radio for parts.

For the rechargeable battery you can check with www.wirelesspro.com. They may have what you need.

Best regards.

Height and placement of your antenna determines range. In normal circumstances a two-way radio will talke line-of sight up to 2 miles. Any obstacles you have inbetween the two radios will shorten the range. Talking from inside to outside you can expect only 1/4 to 1/2 mi. range. Hold your antenna perpendicular to the ground (straight up) for the best range. Tilting the radio to the side can reduce range by up to 2/3s. (You'll need to do the conversion to kilometres).

Best regards.

Motorola Talkabout 200 - how do i set main channel only? i need to set for example channel 1 and subchannel 0 (1-0; 2-0; etc) but i can only set a main channel with subcode for example (1-1; 1-2; 1-38

Here is a link to the user guide for the T289. It is the closest we have fofound to the T200 guide: http://www.motorola.com/mdirect/manuals/T289_User_Manual.pdf

It may be of assistance to you. Honestly, we were thinking the early model T200 and T250 did not have the interference eliminator code., just 14 channels. However, if you are experiencing other numbers, it is possibly the code.

Best regards.

T289 battery replacement. Does the clip have to come off the back before sliding down the U shaped black bottom?

No, but it might be handy to remove it. To remove it you would look at the front of the radio, and place a small screwdriver under the lip of the clip and gently pry up. However, you can remove the u-shaped bottom without removing the clip.

best regards.

Will the Motorola Talkabout T289 work with a Uniden Scramble? So far we can get the uniden to recieve a signal from the Motorolla but not vice versa

Here is a link to the user guide for the T289. http://www.motorola.com/mdirect/manuals/T289_User_Manual.pdf

You might try setting the interference code eliminator to zero (off) and see if they match. If not, try each of the 38 codes individually until you find the one which matches the Uniden.

Best regards.

On your left hand side as you face the radio, there is a row of buttons. The top button is the power button.

Here is a link you can copy and paste for the owners manual. (Click T289 PDF in the upper right hand side of the page to download)
