You need to strip the laptop down to the motherboard.

A musician friend of mine asked me to take a look at his pedal. Apparently there are issues with it cutting out. I figure it's just a bad lead connection on either the input or output jack, but...

Diagram is NOT likely to help much. Look for bad soldering at the input and output jacks AND by the power input jacks. Also look for cracked circuit board and or lifted circuit etch. Lastly, the pots and the soldering around them may be part of the problem. Most of the mentioned things are 95% of the problem.

The input on the laptop where i stick the charger inn isn't working, what do i do?

DC Jack diagnosis:
1. Test power adapter for output voltage. Bend the power cable in various directions while doing this to be sure that there is no broken conductors in the cable.
2. If power adapter is Ok, connect it & see if the power LED on the laptop will glow when you jiggle the power connector in various directions. If yes, then the DC jack might be loose or damaged, & need to be either re-soldered or replaced.
3. If not, then disassemble the laptop. Remove any components that attach to the laptop's motherboard first (e.g. battery, hard drive, RAM, wireless card, optical drive, ... etc.)
4. Next, remove the keyboard & the LCD screen.
5. Finally, unscrew all screws that hold the upper cover & lower cover together so that you could gain access to the motherboard.
6. Inspect the solder points connecting the DC jack to the motherboard. Make sure that none of them is loose. If any, re-solder them.
7. Inspect the center pin in the DC jack. Make sure that it is not broken or loose. If it is, then you might need to replace the DC jack.
8. When you are done, re-assemble back the laptop

Hi..

You can download an operating system which will you want. If you want and windows operating system you can go to microsoft website search the OS product you want to download. If you have already search the product you can easy to download. That product is valid only for 15 to 30 days. It is only a trial version.

Dell Inspiron 1505; Battery does not charge; DC jack is loose..

You have either a faulty connector plug on the power adapter which connects into the laptop or the loose power input socket on the laptop is faulty. This is because you need to press the connector upwards to make electrical contact.
Test the connectot plug on the power adapter with a multi-meter, wriggle the connector to see if your get the voltage to fluctuate, if it does not then the connector is OK anf the fault is in the laptop power input socket.
If the fault is in the power adapter plug or the laptop's power input socket, this can be repaired, a techo would have no trouble in repairing these faults.

Wont charge

The most common cause of this is the input jack being broken off of the mother board. There is a fair amount of stress on the jack which is surface mounted onto the motherboard. It is common for the connection to break off. This can be fixed easily by anyone that works on surface mounted equipment. Please note that the laptop will need to be dis-assembled to gain access to the area that needs repair. This is a fairly involved process and should not be attempted by someone not familiar with laptops. Expect to pay around $100 for this repair. No parts should be required.

Sony KV- 32V35 Front Jacks

Yes, the front RCA jacks on the Sony sets always seem to crack loose. I have seen that many, many times. To get to those jacks, you will have to remove the back of the TV and carefully pull out the main chassis, taking care not to pull out any wires or jacks. When the main chassis slides back, there is a smaller board in front of the main board, and the pushbuttons and RCA jacks are on that smaller board. The connectors to that board usually come off when you slide the main chassis back, so you will need to put those jacks back in place when reassembling. Slide the smaller board back, flip it over and resolder the connections on the RCA jacks. Sometimes I find that the copper trace to the center pin of the video (yellow) RCA jack is broken, so test for continuity and solder a small jumper wire to take the place of the cracked copper trace if necessary. Reassembnle the set and your jacks should be working fine.

Loose Input Connection

Absolutely, it's a bad coax jack. It's a very common problem. Probably a 35-90$ repair is all. The jack on the tuner just has to be replaced. Sometimes the whole tuner has to be replaced causing the price to go up a bit, but that doesn't normally happen.
