Error message/Switching off

My friends Philips TV continually switches off to stand-by mode, could be on for a couple of mins or couple of hours before switching off to stand-by mode, also has and "ERR NICAM" message at bottom left of screen, not sure if related to the switching off issue above,

TV is a Philips blackline  I think, could be 5 or more years old, pic and sound fine when working

Intermittent Blink code 4

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.
If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device, in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.
Counting of number of blinks to Philips TVs is entirely different to that of other brand TVs. It is not a direct count procedure. The site have details about how to count the number of LED blinks [Fault Codes] to Philips brand TVs are given; along with details of the faulty circuit location.....

Color loss when switching between HD and analog channels

Clearly your T.V. is the problem. Always know: whatever unit needs the most adjustment needs, that is the unit that's gonna give first. It's an internal issue, one that should be checked by a service center. There are no connection issues. If it had been then the issue would be continuous.

Buzzing sound

Hello, This is a problem with the switching transformer or the ballast used to fire the backlight. You will have to replace the ballast and or the switching transformer soon. In order to replace these items, I would suggest taking it to a qualified TV technician for servicing. I hope this helps, Thank you, Shuttle83

Tele will not stay on

I just started having this problem myself.
Try unplugging the TV for 5 minutes, plug it back in and turn it on. This worked for me and so far it's still working.
Someone said this is a "cold reset" and works for a number of problems.

Good Luck.
