Probably dropping because of the crappy twisted pair service at the far end micro-breaking the connection. Not enough to blow an analogue line, but digital scrambles at line static.

We've been using Skype for three years and slowly we have seen it deteriorate in quality and service.
The problem you describe sounds like a bandwidth issue at Skype. You will see the same hting happen on video conferencing if you use it as well. Nothing really you can do other than complain to Skype. If enough of us complain, maybe they will start working on quality again.
everything seems to be connected correctly, but when I try to talk to someone I can see them, but they see me only hear me. I did do a update to see if it would solve the problem. Now I get an unabel to connect message
