Question about Rosewill Rnx-N250pc2 300mbps Wireless Adapter RNWD12001

1 Answer

Adapter shuts off during restart.

I just bought and built my new computer and am using the Rosewill RNX-N350PC2 for wireless internet. It works pretty well, but my biggest problem is that whenever I restart my system, the network adapter turns off and never comes back on. This proves problematic when needing to restart to install updates or the like, because I must first wait for my computer to restart before immediately shutting it down to turn it back on again so I can get the adapter to work. Not sure if this is a common problem or not, but any tips in solving it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

SOURCE: Window 7 32bit wireless could

Install the driver then reboot your Windows7 system.
Plug the wireless adapter into a USB port.
An install icon will appear in the systray showing that it is installing the driver.
Click on the install icon and stop it from finding a driver in the Windows data base. Apparently Windows finds a driver and installs it corrupting the Rosewill driver.
I tried using the wizard but it locked up. After rebooting the system the adapter found my AP and I was able to log in.

Which program do i use to install a rosewill rnxni on my windowsxp

Hi, Lester.
Here is a link to the driver downloads for your wireless adapter.

http://www.rosewill.com/products/d_1126/productDetail.htm

Click on the tab for downloads, and then select the driver download for your operating system.
There is more than one version available for your device, I would go with the one that's listed as V1.5.1

That is the most recent version available.

I hope this helps you out.

Also, the manual is also available for download off of the same page.

Good luck with your download and installation, and have a good day.

I would first remove the Security off the router completely and then make sure the device can connect without any
security - IF it connects OK, then at least you know the wireless works all OK with the device Next, add the security back on, - Make sure the device does support the type of security you are using - WPA2 needs
special hardware to work - so you could start with WEP, or WPA It may also be a conflict with other wireless signals - like cordless phones, although, I would suspect that effects all
devices - But it maybe worth changing the wireless cahnnel used in the router - to avoid interference download and run
this program on a PC http://www.xirrus.com/library/wifitools.php Then run the program - If you get an error - You need [URL="http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?
FamilyId=333325FD-AE52-4E35-B531-508D977D32A6&displaylang=en"]NET Framework[/URL] installed for the WiFi Inspector to
function. Look at the wireless signals in your area and what channel they are using and the strength of the signal - where possible
try to use channel 1 or 6 or 11, as they do not overlap other channels If still an issue please comment back, and i will look into further
