Question about Siemens Gigaset 8825 Cordless Phone

1 Answer

Beeping Handsets I have continually had a problem since day one of owning this system where the phones beep while sitting in the charging cradles.  We try to reposition them in the stand/cradle without success.  I have purchased new rechargable batteries but the problem continues.  Any solutions?

Re: Beeping Handsets

Mine have done that as well.
After cleaning the contacts on both the handheld unit and the base itself, it seems to stop the problem. Try using a qtip that is wet with water or alcohol.

When the Talk button is depressed on one of our two handsets the screen reads: "No link to base. Move closer to base and try again." The other handsets performs as it always has.

Hi Jim.

About the problem with the answer received, you should write to They usually reply within next working day.

About the system, if you have not sent the system for repair yet, you should do a full system power reset. This is done performing the following, simply disconnecting the power adapter won't be enough:

  • Disconnect all power adapter cables from wallsockets.
  • Remove all handsets from cradles.
  • Remove all battery from cradles.
  • Fit back the batteries in their handsets.
  • Place back handsets in their cradles.
  • Connect power cables.

The procedure above will reset the system and will re-sync handsets to cradles. If that does not work, then some of the units in the system is defective.

I wanted to remind that the feedback given to the expert does not afftect refund procedure, and do not affect your status. In some case I get negative feedback while trying to help dissatisfied
askers in troubles with Fixya service. That is not really nice and pleasant. :)

All the best.

My uniden DSS7855 with 1 base station and 3 handsets wont connect when i dial a number and hit the talk button it tries to connect and then comes up "'out of range" much appreciated for any help...

Clear the Handset's Base Data
  1. To remove the base data from a handset when out of range of the base, press and hold the 'end' button and the '#' button simultaneously until the phone beeps.
  2. It will now be de-registered from the base.
Note: This requires that the base and handset can communicate with each other.

Clear the Base Handset Data
  1. To de-register all handsets from the base, remove power to the base, and remove the handset from the base.
  2. Press and hold the 'flash/find hs' button while applying power.
  3. Wait for the beep and release the button.
  4. The charge light will now flash.
  5. Sit any handset in the cradle.
  6. When the flashing stops, re-register the handsets to the base.
Re-Register a Handset to the Base
1. Remove Handset Battery.
2. Reconnect battery while holding down "*" and "#" key.
3. Then press the right upper key under the LCD.
4. Press the "End" key.
5. Wait a few seconds and then the phone will be ready to register to the base.

No dialling tone - just a beeping sound

It sounds like the handset is not 'registered' to the base station/cradle. Solution may be in the user handbook, which you should be able to download at :

Registering phones

I have after many hours found the solution. (Well one that worked for me). I have a Uniden Elite 8855 + 8805 additional handsets. What you have to do is:
1. Go to your base unit.
2. Put your flip phone in the cradle.
3. Press down and hold down (AT ALL TIMES) the end (find hs) button.
4. Whilst holding down this button, take the power plug out of the wall.
5. Whilst still holding down the end (find hs) button, plug the power back in.
6. When you hear a beep from the base unit system.
7. Let go of the end (find hs) button.
8. Your phone memory should be cleared now and you are ready to repeat the process of registering your base and additional handsets.

Phone loses connection after few minutes

I looked up the battery specs for your phone. They are 3 X 200mah= 600mah battery packs. They should last 8 hrs talk time with the headsets. This style of battery pack in my experience only last about 1 1/2years and sometimes longer and "sometimes" shorter...much shorter. I bet you never had problems when you first got them. Basicly this "battery design arrangment" goes back many years before newer battery technlogy was developed. But designers still insist on using them even today. They are cheap to make. ****Time to replace them with new ones.**** Make sure you follow the mfgs charging instructions: "After battery installation, place the handsets in their base unit or charger and allow to charge for 16 hours before use. You can keep the battery charged by returning the handsets to their base unit or charger after each use. When the battery is fully depleted, a recharge takes about 12 hours. Average talk time on a fully charged battery is about eight hours depending on environmental conditions, standby time is approximately four days." Good luck

Signal indicator flashes constantly

The following worked when I had what appears to be the same problem. Solution :- Remove batteries, remove power connection, wait 30 minutes, re-connect power and replace batteries then press button on base until it beeps. Both handsets started continuous beeping which eventually stopped and everything was returned to normal. Admittdly this sounds almost identical to the process used by 'versailles' above, but at least it confirms that the technical info given by the BT Helpline does work
